Apple (AAPL) has updated its App Store rules as part of its cooperation with a court order over the Epic Games-initiated antitrust case over commissions, TechCrunch’s Sarah Perez reports. As a result, developers can now promote separate means of payment for their in-app purchases and subscriptions via links or buttons within their iOS apps, the author notes. However, the tech giant is excluding video and news partners from the new rules, the author says. Investors in Epic include Tencent (TCEHY), KKR (KKR), Disney (DIS), and Sony (SONY).
