The Justice Department is preparing to file an antitrust lawsuit against Apple as soon as March, sources familiar with the case told Bloomberg’s Leah Nylen. The Justice Department hopes to file a suit in the first quarter of the year, though that timing could slip, the sources said. The New York Times’ David McCabe and Tripp Mickle previously reported on January 5 that The Justice Department is in the late stages of an investigation into Apple and could file a “sweeping antitrust case” aimed at the company’s strategies to protect the dominance of the iPhone as soon as the first half of this year.
