The Justice Department, which has been probing Apple since 2019, is preparing to file an antitrust lawsuit against the iPhone maker by as soon as March, sources familiar with the case told Bloomberg’s Leah Nylen. The Justice Department, which alleges that Apple has imposed software and hardware limitations on its iPhones and iPads to impede rivals from effectively competing, hopes to file a suit in the first quarter of the year, though that timing could slip, the sources said. The New York Times’ David McCabe and Tripp Mickle previously reported on January 5 that The Justice Department is in the late stages of an investigation into Apple and could file a “sweeping antitrust case” aimed at the company by as soon as the first half of this year.
