Alaska Air flight was scheduled for checks prior to blown door plug, NYT says

The Alaska Airlines (ALK) 737 Max 9 that had a door plug blow out midflight remained in service for a day after the airline’s engineers, concerned about warning lights, scheduled it to come in for maintenance, The New York Times’ Mark Walker and James Glanz report. Interviews and documents show that the airline chose to keep the Boeing (BA) plane in service on January 5, with some restrictions, carrying passengers until it completed three flights that were scheduled to end that night at one of the airline’s maintenance facilities.
