U.S. Futures are trading higher on Thursday morning as the Thanksgiving optimism spreads among traders. U.S. markets remain closed for trading today. Further, markets will close sooner on November 24, in honor of Black Friday. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 (NDX), S&P 500 (SPX), and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) are up by 0.11%, 0.03%, and 0.01%, respectively, at 3:40 a.m. EST, November 23.

Meanwhile, the U.S. 10-year treasury yield is holding steady, trending near 4.40% at the time of writing. And the WTI crude oil futures are hovering near $76.65 per barrel as of the last check. Notably, OPEC delayed the policy-setting meeting, which dragged down energy stocks yesterday. There are no major economic reports or earnings releases scheduled for today owing to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Traders are still assessing Nvidia’s (NVDA) third-quarter results and the impact of the loss of sales to China. NVDA stock lost 2.5% in regular trading on November 22. At the same time, the OpenAI and Sam Altman saga continues to make headlines as investors digest the days-long drama.
In other news, outdoor recreation and shooting sports products maker Vista Outdoor (VSTO) received an unsolicited merger proposal from Colt CZ Group, a maker of pistols and rifles. The cash and stock merger offer values Vista’s shares at $30 apiece. VSTO stock jumped over 2% in extended trade yesterday following the news.
Elsewhere, European markets are trading in the green on Thursday as traders await November’s preliminary Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data for the eurozone today.
Asia-Pacific Markets Mostly End Higher on Thursday
A majority of Asia-Pacific indices ended higher on Thursday. Japan’s markets remained closed for trading today due to a public holiday.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index and China’s Shanghai Composite and Shenzhen Component indexes ended up by 0.99%, 0.60%, and 0.78% respectively.
