Fort McKay First Nation and Suncor Energy have signed an MOU for a potential oil sands project on Fort McKay reserve lands, advancing economic development and environmental stewardship. The partnership aims to empower the Fort McKay community with self-determination while aligning with Suncor’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. This collaboration is seen as a step toward reconciliation, offering long-term prosperity and sustainability for the First Nation’s people.
