Metcash Limited (AU:MTS) has released an update.
Metcash Limited’s planned acquisition of wholesale food distributor Superior Food Services has been given the green light by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), with no anticipated reduction in market competition. The review by the ACCC considered various market aspects and concluded that Metcash and Superior are not significant competitors in the food service sector, and that ample competition will remain post-acquisition from other major players. This move is not expected to impact suppliers negatively or limit consumer options in the marketplace.
