HSBC Holdings PLC has announced the retirement of Group Chief Executive Noel Quinn, who has been with the bank for 37 years and has led it through a period of significant transformation, resulting in record profits and the strongest returns in a decade. Quinn will remain in his role until a successor is found, ensuring a smooth transition, and the search for his replacement will consider both internal and external candidates. Quinn’s departure terms are consistent with the bank’s remuneration policy, and he will continue to receive his benefits and may be eligible for a prorated annual incentive for 2024.
