Keri A. Shea, Senior Vice President of AvalonBay Communities and the current principal accounting officer, has announced her retirement effective January 1, 2025. Shea has been with the company since 2002 and has held the PAO role since 2009. Sean T. Willson, who has been with the company since 2006 and currently serves as Senior Vice President – Corporate Controller, will take over as the designated PAO following Shea’s departure. Willson, a CPA and CFA charter holder with a B.S. in Business from Virginia Tech, has previously worked at Freddie Mac and Arthur Andersen and has no disclosed family relationships or material interests that would affect his appointment.
