Q2 2027 Earnings Call Summary
The call was broadly positive. Management reported 31% year-over-year revenue growth and 33% adjusted EBITDA growth, expanding data center and fiber capacity, strong demand exceeding supply, improving pricing and returns in data centers, progress on edge facilities and the Vizag cable landing station, and continued investment in AI-related infrastructure and digital services. The main challenges were sequential data center revenue weakness caused by the absence of one-time implementation income and lower pass-through power revenue, a network margin decline and inherent network pricing pressure, unfinalized IPO timing, and stated cost implications from capacity expansion.
Management said 81 megawatts was deliverable in FY 2027 and is part of the 113 megawatts of contracts scheduled for delivery beginning this quarter over the next 3 quarters; 136 megawatts plus 113 megawatts, or 249 megawatts, will become revenue generating over the next few quarters, while total design capacity after including the backlog to be delivered would be close to about 300 megawatts. The company said its land bank across 7 cities should support more than 1 gigawatt, 2 edge data centers have gone live and other 2 edge data centers are under development, and digital services should get better from here with hopefully a sustainable performance going forward. Network business should continue to see some bit of growth, the company will increase its spend on the network side over time, CapEx is probably about a 80-20 ratio between data center and network, and the Vizag cable landing station will start work following DOT approval.
- Strong Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA GrowthQ2 FY2026-2027 revenue was INR 1.3 million, an increase of 31% over the same quarter last year. Adjusted EBITDA was INR 3.13 thousand million, up 33% year over year.
- Data Center Capacity ExpansionData center operational capacity stood at 136 megawatts as of September 30, 2026, with 113 megawatts of contracted capacity scheduled for delivery. The contracted capacity is expected to be delivered beginning this quarter over the next 3 quarters.
- Significant Planned Design CapacityIncluding the contracted backlog, total design capacity is expected to be close to 300 megawatts. The company said its existing land bank across 7 cities could support more than 1 gigawatt of capacity.
- Strong Industry Demand and Improving Data Center ReturnsManagement stated that industry demand is far in excess of available supply. It said there is no pricing pressure for Sify at this point, pricing is getting better, and returns are improving.
- National Fiber Network ExpansionSify provides services through 1.26 thousand fiber nodes across the country, a 6% increase over the same quarter last year. Network growth is being supported by hyperscale data center expansion, data center interconnect services, and the company's national long-distance fiber network.
- Network Investment for AI WorkloadsThe company is expanding its network infrastructure to enable AI workloads across the country and said it will continue investing in the network business over time.
- Digital Services ImprovementManagement said the digital services business turned positive after significant work and stated that performance should get better from here. The company is building the business into a portfolio of largely AI-led services and described the performance as hopefully sustainable going forward.
- Edge Data Center RolloutTwo edge data centers have gone live in Lucknow and Mohali, which management also identified as Chandigarh. Work is underway on two additional edge data centers.
- Vizag Cable Landing Station ApprovalSify received Department of Telecommunications approval for the Vizag cable landing station and said it will start work on the project.
- Visakhapatnam Data Center Engineering ProgressThe company is working on the engineering portion of the Visakhapatnam data center site and plans to take it up at the appropriate time after delivering its existing commitments.
- Continued Investment Across Infrastructure and PeopleSify continues to invest in data center capacity, network infrastructure for AI workloads, cloud interconnect capabilities, operational tools and platforms, and employee skills and capabilities.

- Quarter-End Cash BalanceCash balance at the end of the quarter was INR 5.17 thousand million.
- Data Center-Led Capital AllocationCapital expenditure during the quarter was INR 8.57 thousand million. Current capital expenditure is focused on data centers and the network, with management indicating an approximately 80-20 ratio between those areas.
- Adequate Capitalization for GrowthManagement stated that Sify is adequately capitalized for the time being and affirmed that it has adequate access to capital to continue its growth plans at the current trajectory.
- IPO Process Remains ActiveBankers continue advising Sify Infinit Spaces on the appropriate timing for the IPO, and the company said it will communicate the dates once finalized. Management stated that the process is not strictly delayed by market conditions and that the Indian market is currently good.
- Revenue Mix Across BusinessesQ2 revenue was split among network services at 43%, data center services at 37%, and digital services at 20%.
- Network Business Growth OutlookManagement expects the network business to continue seeing some growth as hyperscale data centers expand and enterprises require connectivity to those data centers. It also said connectivity between data centers in India should see growth.
