Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
Underlying Margin ImprovementUnderlying gross-margin expansion (~3.5ppt Q2, ~2.3ppt H1) driven by price/mix, sourcing and less dilutive business supports structurally higher unit economics. Sustained underlying margin gains improve cash conversion and buffer profitability while sales recovery remains gradual.
Strong Free Cash Flow And Lower LeverageRobust FCF and a sharp net-debt reduction materially increase financial flexibility. Durable cash generation enables self-funded M&A, buybacks and reinvestment into digital and brands, improving resilience to demand shocks and supporting strategic initiatives over the coming quarters.
Strategic M&A And ReinvestmentSelf-funded acquisitions and a buyback signal disciplined capital allocation and expand premium brand exposure. Combined with planned reinvestment into D2C and marketing, this strengthens long-term brand portfolio, channel capabilities and margin capture potential.
Bears Say
Multi-year Revenue DeclinePersistent revenue contraction undermines the quality of the margin recovery; without sustainable top-line stabilization, positive operating leverage is limited. Continued shrinkage elevates execution risk and could reverse recent cash and profit improvements when one-offs fade.
One-off Tariff Refund Boosted MarginsA significant portion of Q2 margin uplift was non-recurring. Reliance on this one-off inflates near-term profitability and cash metrics; absent repeat refunds, margins and reported EBITDA could revert, challenging durability of the profitability improvement.
Regional And Channel Demand WeaknessSevere APAC downturn and pressure in key channels indicate demand fragility and geographic sensitivity. Recovery in these markets may be slow, prolonging revenue headwinds and making consistent margin delivery and inventory normalization more uncertain.
