Q3 2026 Earnings Slide Deck
Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary
The call was broadly positive, supported by revenue and EPS beats, strong CX AI and CXone demand, international growth, large enterprise wins, partner momentum, operating margin performance and a raised EPS outlook. However, management repeatedly acknowledged that cloud growth is below its desired pace, with slower AI monetization, noncore cloud growth, delayed Financial Crime and Compliance migrations, less favorable Q4 seasonality and restructuring actions. The number and strength of the positive operating and financial developments outweighed the stated challenges.
For full year 2026, total revenue is expected to be in the range of $3.170 billion to $3.190 billion, representing growth of 8% at the midpoint; cloud revenue growth is expected to be approximately 12%, excluding the impact of the customer credit; full year fully diluted earnings per share are now expected to be in the range of $11.12 to $11.32; full year operating margin is expected to finish slightly above the high end of the 25% to 26% operating margin range; free cash flow margin is expected to be in a range of approximately 10% to 12% on a reported basis or approximately 12% to 14%, excluding nonrecurring items related to acquisition, divestiture and restructuring; restructuring charges of approximately $15 million to $20 million are expected, primarily in Q4 2026; and the company is reducing its global workforce by approximately 5%, with greater confidence in achieving its 2028 operating margin target of 27% and confidence that it will accelerate cloud growth in '27 and in '28.
- Q3 Revenue and EPS Exceeded GuidanceThird-quarter total revenue was $791 million, up 8% year-over-year, and non-GAAP EPS was $2.84; both exceeded the high end of the company's guidance ranges.
- Cloud Revenue Growth and Resolved Customer MatterCloud revenue was $623 million, representing 79% of total revenue and increasing 10.6% year-over-year. Excluding a $10 million atypical customer credit, cloud revenue growth was 12.2% and total revenue growth would have been 9% year-over-year. The credit was fully resolved, with no further exposure in future periods and the customer's relationship and ARR intact.
- Strong CX AI ARR and Backlog GrowthCX AI ARR increased 46% year-over-year to $392 million and represented 16% of cloud revenue. AI backlog grew approximately 40% year-over-year, and AI revenue was described as coming virtually entirely from production deployments rather than pilots.
- Cognigy Momentum and Product InnovationCognigy was the key AI growth driver, with revenue increasing quarter-over-quarter. Q3 was Cognigy's strongest quarter of the year for deal volume and new customers added. NiCE Labs delivered product innovation including real-time voice-to-voice model integration for natural full-duplex conversations and the ability to use AI coding agents to build Cognigy agents in minutes.
- CXone Platform StrengthCXone was recognized as a leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Contact Center as a Service. Customer interactions increased across all channels, AI interactions grew faster than voice and digital, and CXone seat-count growth accelerated sequentially. CXone backlog grew 27% year-over-year, significantly above total cloud backlog growth of 15%.
- Large Enterprise CX AI WinsNiCE secured commitments from four of the world's largest enterprises, each with annual revenue of approximately $100 billion or more. Wins included an 8-digit ACV CXone deal with a new global telecommunications customer, a 7-digit ACV Cognigy expansion with a large U.S. healthcare organization, a 7-figure Cognigy commitment from a global automotive and financial services customer, and a 7-digit ACV CXone expansion with one of the world's largest technology companies.
- Partner Ecosystem ExpansionGSI-driven ACV grew nearly sevenfold year-over-year in Q3. Cognigy practitioner certifications at the highest tier nearly quadrupled among partners from Q2 to Q3, expanding partner capacity to help customers adopt AI.
- International GrowthInternational revenue increased 33% year-over-year, including 45% growth in EMEA. International cloud revenue increased 50% year-over-year on a constant-currency basis. AI represented the majority of international new bookings, and NiCE recorded its first Cognigy wins in Japan, Singapore and the Philippines, along with its first combined CXone and Cognigy deal in China.
- Financial Crime and Compliance Product StrengthFinancial Crime and Compliance revenue totaled $135 million, representing 17% of total revenue and increasing 13% year-over-year. Product revenue increased 30% year-over-year, primarily driven by strong growth in Financial Crime and Compliance.
- Operating Margin OutperformanceThird-quarter operating income was $214 million, producing a 27% non-GAAP operating margin. The company expects to finish 2026 slightly above its 25% to 26% operating margin range while continuing to invest in AI innovation, go-to-market initiatives and its partner ecosystem.
- Cash Position and Share RepurchasesOperating cash flow was $98 million and free cash flow was $69 million in Q3. NiCE ended the quarter with $351 million in cash and short-term investments and no debt. The company repurchased $72 million of shares during the quarter and $383 million year-to-date; shares outstanding declined 6% year-over-year.
- Raised EPS Guidance and Reiterated Revenue GuidanceFull-year 2026 revenue guidance was reiterated at $3.170 billion to $3.190 billion, representing 8% growth at the midpoint. Full-year diluted EPS guidance was raised to $11.12 to $11.32.
- Core CXone Demand and RetentionCXone revenue growth excluding Network Connectivity outpaced overall cloud revenue growth in each quarter of the year. Cloud net revenue retention, excluding the customer credit, was 106% and remained stable sequentially, with stronger retention and expansion among the largest enterprise customers.
- Personal Agent and AI Platform PositioningNiCE Cognigy supports A2A and MCP alongside voice and digital channels, and the company is collaborating with Meta and other industry partners on an open personal agent protocol. Management stated that AI interactions are monetized through interaction-based pricing and that the existing pricing model is positioned to accommodate higher interaction volumes.
