Q2 2027 Earnings Call Summary

Q2 2027
Earnings Call Date:Oct 27, 2026|% Change Since:0.00%|
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive

The call was broadly positive. Logitech reported its 11th consecutive quarter of growth, strong gross margins, solid operating income, market-share gains and robust demand in video collaboration, gaming, enterprise and premium products. The main challenges were the semiconductor supply incident, regional weakness in EMEA and Asia Pacific, declines in tablet accessories and webcams, and expected third-quarter margin and revenue pressure from supply constraints, inflation, logistics costs and promotions. Management nevertheless reduced the expected supplier impact, expects it to be largely resolved by the fourth quarter, and maintained a fiscal-year operating-margin outlook at the high end of its long-term range.

Company Guidance

For the third quarter, Logitech expects constant currency net sales to be down 5% to flat year-over-year, including a negative impact from the supplier incident of between $70 million to $80 million; non-GAAP operating income is expected to be in the range of $220 million to $255 million, with a gross margin rate between 41% and 42%, approximately 200 basis points lower year-over-year, including roughly 150 basis points from freight, logistics and material costs and 50 basis points from slightly higher promotional spend. The supplier impact is expected to be largely resolved by the fourth quarter, while inflationary pressure is expected to continue throughout the remainder of fiscal year 2027. Logitech now expects fiscal year 2027 non-GAAP operating income margin to be at the high end of its long-term 15% to 18% range, even excluding the $61 million tariff refunds from last quarter; normalized third-quarter demand is about plus 4% in constant currency, and the company expects positive holiday demand overall.

  • Eleventh Consecutive Quarter of Revenue GrowthSecond-quarter net sales were $1.2 billion, up 3% in U.S. dollars and 2% in constant currency, marking Logitech's 11th consecutive quarter of year-over-year top-line growth. Excluding the third-party supplier incident and geopolitical conflicts, estimated underlying net sales would have been up approximately 4% in constant currency.
  • Strong Profitability and Gross Margin PerformanceNon-GAAP operating income was $231 million, up slightly year-over-year and well ahead of the company's outlook, with an 18.9% operating margin. Non-GAAP gross margin was 45.2%, up 140 basis points year-over-year and representing the fifth consecutive quarter above 43%. The gross-margin expansion was attributed to lower tariff costs from manufacturing diversification, favorable mix toward video collaboration and premium products, and positive currency impacts.
  • Video Collaboration GrowthVideo collaboration net sales grew 12% year-over-year in constant currency, supported by COVID-era equipment refreshes, office footprint expansion and AI-driven meeting-room expansion. Growth was split approximately 60% from price and 40% from units. Logitech cited sustained enterprise demand and said these infrastructure-related purchases are not discretionary.
  • Gaming Momentum and New Product LaunchesGaming net sales increased 7%, driven by new product launches and continued demand for top sellers such as the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE mouse. Logitech unveiled 15 new gaming products at its Logitech G PLAY events, including the PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE, new sim-racing gear and the Yeti 2 microphone. Management also cited strong gaming-market conditions, including demand associated with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and anticipation for GTA 6.
  • Pointing Devices and Keyboards Outperformed the PC MarketPointing devices and keyboards and combos each grew 4%, while global PC shipments declined roughly 20% year-over-year. Logitech said mice gained 320 basis points of global market share and keyboards gained approximately 280 basis points, driven by innovation, premium products and growth from the installed PC base.
  • Americas Regional StrengthAmericas net sales accelerated to 13% growth in constant currency, reflecting solid business and consumer demand ahead of the holiday season as well as strong local sales and marketing execution.
  • Supply-Chain Mitigation Reduced the Expected ImpactThe company reduced its estimate of the supplier incident's third-quarter net-sales impact to $70 million to $80 million, compared with up to $200 million previously indicated in July. Logitech expanded secondary sourcing, redesigned products to use available chips and adjusted commercial plans. The company expects the supplier impact to be largely resolved by the fourth quarter.
  • Disciplined Cash Generation and Shareholder ReturnsLogitech generated $164 million in operating cash flow during the quarter and ended the period with $1.5 billion in cash. The company returned $406 million to shareholders through $235 million of annual dividends and $171 million of share repurchases.
  • Strategic Investment in Innovation and GrowthLogitech continued investing in R&D, sales and marketing while maintaining discipline in G&A. Sales and marketing increased 12% to fund initiatives such as Logitech G PLAY, and R&D increased 9%. The company also introduced the MX Keypad AI control center and Zone Vibe Pro headphones with adaptive noise cancellation and AI-powered voice isolation.
  • Expanded Video Collaboration PortfolioAt the beginning of the third quarter, Logitech launched Generation 2 of its video collaboration lineup with AI-enabled products. The refreshed portfolio adds capabilities for large rooms and auditoriums, including audio for large rooms, areas the company said it had not previously served.
  • Positive Enterprise and Vertical-Market DemandManagement remained bullish on Logitech for Business, citing strong video collaboration demand, solid personal-workspace demand among Fortune 500 customers, and strength in healthcare as telehealth expands. Government demand was also described as strong, supported by additional talent and efforts to make more products TAA compliant for the U.S. federal government.
  • Progress in China and Education ChannelsChina was ahead of the overall Asia Pacific results despite disproportionate supply limitations. Logitech continued gaining share in personal workspace and premium gaming, expanded into China's more than 60,000 i-Cafes, and said AI-enabled Logi PLAY content was being produced at less than 10% of the cost of a year earlier. The company also remains positive on education and is expanding additional products, including video collaboration, into that vertical.
  • Fiscal-Year Operating Margin Outlook MaintainedDespite expected inflationary pressure through the remainder of the fiscal year, Logitech now expects fiscal-year 2027 non-GAAP operating income margin to be at the high end of its long-term 15% to 18% range, excluding the $61 million of tariff refunds received in the prior quarter.
  • Positive Holiday Demand ExpectedManagement expects positive overall holiday demand, with high-end consumers continuing to spend and premium products performing well. The company expects slightly higher promotional spending to support mainstream consumers, describing that spending as strategic and competitive.
