Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary
Earnings Call Sentiment|Neutral
The call conveyed a mixed outlook. Euronet highlighted strong digital growth, expanding payment capabilities, new partnerships, a solid balance sheet and continued capital returns. However, these positives were accompanied by substantial cross-border revenue and profitability declines, a revised 2026 outlook, persistent US immigration-related pressure, macroeconomic uncertainty and a near-term Epay headwind. Management expressed confidence in the long-term strategy while remaining cautious about the near-term environment.Company Guidance
Strong Digital Accelerator Growth
Digital accelerator revenue grew 30% in the third quarter and 33% year-to-date. Growth was broad-based across Ria Digital, Dandelion, merchant services, payment processing, and CoreCard.
Digital Businesses Increasing Revenue Mix
Digital accelerators represented approximately 21% of payment channel revenue in 2025 and approximately 26% currently, reflecting the increasing contribution of higher-growth, more scalable and digital revenue streams. Management noted that growth will begin to moderate over the next couple of quarters as the company anniversaries the fourth-quarter 2025 CoreCard acquisition.
Third-Quarter Revenue and Cash Generation
Third-quarter revenue was $1.2 billion, operating income was $171.6 million, adjusted operating income was $169.9 million, and adjusted EBITDA was $226.1 million. Management described Euronet as highly profitable and cash generative and said it continues to expect full-year revenue and earnings growth and strong free cash flow generation.
Payments Infrastructure Revenue Growth
Payments infrastructure revenue grew 9%, primarily driven by growth in merchant acquiring and the contribution from the CoreCard acquisition. Adjusted EBITDA grew 4%; adjusted operating income was flat, and excluding a $4.7 million increase in CoreCard purchase price amortization, adjusted operating income would have grown 4%.
Epay Continued to Grow
Epay revenue and operating income each grew 5%, while adjusted EBITDA grew 6%. Management attributed the growth to continued demand for higher-value digital content, merchant acquiring growth, and B2B promotional campaigns executed during the quarter.
Strong Balance Sheet and Capital Returns
Euronet ended the quarter with approximately $1 billion in unrestricted cash, $913 million deployed in its ATM network, and $2.2 billion of total debt. The company generated $139 million in cash from operations and repurchased approximately 690,000 shares for $50 million during the quarter.
Merchant Acquiring Expansion in Greece
Euronet launched Google Pay acceptance across its Greek merchant base, expanded SoftPOS capabilities to additional payment schemes, and added approximately 2.75 thousand net new merchant locations during the quarter, further extending its payment acceptance reach in Greece.
Strategic Tax-Free Partnership in Spain
Euronet signed a strategic partnership with GetNet, Santander's payment solutions platform and one of the leading acquirers in Iberia, to deliver an integrated tax-free solution that simplifies VAT tax refund processing for international travelers.
Expansion of Indian Digital Payment Processing
Euronet signed an agreement with Mastercard Payment Gateway Solutions to process online RuPay and UPI transactions, giving bank and merchant customers access to India's domestic payment rails through Euronet.
ATM and Payment Infrastructure Expansion in Latin America
Euronet signed BIN sponsorship agreements with Lafise in Costa Rica and Bancamia in Colombia. Management described these agreements as building blocks for expanding the company's ATM and payment infrastructure footprint in attractive, highly cash-centric markets.
Potential Diebold Nixdorf Collaboration
Euronet announced its intent to form a strategic collaboration with Diebold Nixdorf to combine Euronet's global ATM operations, transaction processing and back-office capabilities with Diebold Nixdorf's cash recycling technology, banking software and field service organization. The collaboration is intended to help financial institutions reduce operating costs, improve efficiency and obtain more value from their ATM networks, subject to a definitive agreement.
Launch of Olan Merchant Platform
Euronet introduced Olan, a platform combining payments, business software and value-added services. Olan supports terminals, mobile, tap-and-pay, online payments, cards, digital wallets and local payment methods, and can also connect merchants with services such as tax-free shopping, bill payments, epay content and foreign exchange. The rollout is underway, with Greece among the first markets.
Stablecoin-Funded Card Solution
Through an expanded collaboration with Fireblocks, Euronet introduced a white-label stablecoin-funded card solution that enables banks, fintechs and other financial institutions to launch stablecoin-linked card programs using Euronet's RAN and CoreCard issuing platforms.
Expansion of Epay Distribution and Content
Epay signed a point-of-sale acquiring and processing agreement with Norma, one of Germany's largest discount supermarket chains; launched branded payments in approximately 700 locations of TESOC in Croatia; rolled out Tonies variable-load gift cards; added gaming partnerships with Riot in India and Epic in Brazil; signed a distribution agreement with Nodwin Gaming in India; and established a presence on Amazon India's gift-card marketplace.
Ria Digital and Dandelion Momentum
Ria Digital revenue increased 30% and transactions increased 34%. Approximately 60% of total volume and 50% of total transactions land in a digital account. Management also stated that approximately three-fourths of digital customers are new to the franchise.
Cross-Border Network and Partnership Expansion
Euronet signed Taptap Send as a Dandelion partner, signed 40 million monthly active users in Africa as both a Dandelion partner and direct network connection, acquired Sage Intacct integration intellectual property for XE, and launched its relationship with BSN Bank in Malaysia as its first banking partner in that market.
CoreCard Sales Pipeline Progress
Management said CoreCard has closed six, seven or eight deals since its acquisition, compared with an original expectation that the first deal might take 18 months. Sales are occurring in the United States, overseas and Latin America, and management said the pipeline and customer interest were stronger than expected.
ATM Network Optimization and New-Market Opportunity
Management said it is continuing to relocate ATMs to stronger locations as market conditions change. It also stated that ATMs in newly entered, cash-intensive markets outside Europe are quite a bit more profitable on a per-ATM basis than those in Europe.
