The company’s activities are structured into three main divisions: Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), and a segment encompassing Licensing and Other ventures. In its Cybersecurity domain, BlackBerry offers the comprehensive Cyber Suite, which harnesses artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide resilient protection. This suite includes BlackBerry Protect, an endpoint protection platform with mobile threat detection capabilities; BlackBerry Optics, an endpoint detection and response (EDR) solution offering insight into and mitigation of malicious activity; BlackBerry Guard, a managed detection and response service; BlackBerry Gateway, an AI-powered Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) tool; and BlackBerry Persona, a user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) solution for real-time identity validation. Further cybersecurity offerings comprise the BlackBerry Spark Unified Endpoint Management Suite, featuring BlackBerry UEM as a central component of its secure communication architecture, and BlackBerry Dynamics, a development platform and secure container for mobile applications. The company also provides BlackBerry AtHoc and BlackBerry Alert for critical event management, SecuSUITE for Government for secure multi-OS voice and text, and BBM Enterprise for encrypted instant messaging. BlackBerry’s IoT segment encompasses BlackBerry QNX, which provides the Neutrino operating system, the QNX CAR platform, and various embedded system solutions. This portfolio also features BlackBerry Jarvis, a cloud-based platform for static application security testing; BlackBerry Certicom products for cryptography and management; BlackBerry Radar for asset monitoring; and BlackBerry IVY, an intelligent data platform designed for vehicles. Additionally, the company delivers enterprise and cybersecurity consulting services. The Licensing and Other segment manages BlackBerry's substantial intellectual property, including patent licensing, and collects fees for legacy services. As of February 28, 2022, BlackBerry maintained an extensive global patent portfolio of approximately 38,000 patents and applications.
