Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Cash Generation & LiquiditySustained operating cash flow and large treasury provide durable funding for capital programs, dividends and exploration without immediate dependence on capital markets. This cash cushion improves resilience through commodity cycles and underpins strategic optionality over the next 2–6 months.
Conservative Leverage / Balance SheetVery low debt relative to equity and improved returns give the company financial flexibility to invest, absorb shocks, or fund restarts. Low leverage reduces refinancing risk and supports sustained capital allocation despite cyclical revenue swings.
Resource Growth & Capacity ExpansionAggressive drilling and confirmed resource additions plus mill/ramp expansions increase long-term production optionality and scale. Growing the resource base and improving metallurgy (higher purity) support more durable production and margin improvements over time.
Bears Say
Commodity Price CyclicalityEarnings and margins are materially driven by silver/gold prices; historical swings from losses to profits show cash flow and return variability. This structural price sensitivity limits predictability of free cash flow and makes multi-quarter planning dependent on metal markets.
Jerritt Canyon Restart Execution RiskRestart requires significant capital, long‑lead equipment and a multi‑year timeline, creating execution and scheduling risk. Delays or cost overruns could tie up capital and postpone expected production and cash returns, affecting medium‑term growth plans.
Rising Per‑Ounce Costs & RoyaltiesManagement's deliberate lower cutoff grades and higher profit‑sharing/processing charges raise AISC structurally. Even with higher metal prices, elevated per‑ounce costs can compress margins and require sustained price or efficiency gains to maintain improved profitability.
