Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
Revenue & Margin RecoveryA meaningful 2026 rebound in revenue (+10.9%) with net margin expanding to ~7.4% signals restored demand, better pricing/mix and operating leverage. Sustained revenue and margin improvement supports durable earnings power, reinvestment capacity and stronger through-cycle ROE.
Improved LeverageLower debt-to-equity reflects material de-leveraging and a larger equity base, improving financial flexibility. Reduced leverage enhances resilience to downturns, preserves access to capital for capex or M&A, and lowers interest burden, strengthening long-term solvency.
Positive Free Cash FlowConsistent positive FCF in 2025–2026 with high conversion to net income indicates genuine cash-generative operations. Reliable FCF supports debt paydown, dividends or reinvestment and is a durable indicator of earnings quality when maintained across cycles.
Bears Say
Earnings CyclicalityPronounced earnings volatility (loss in 2023, thin margins 2024–2025) reduces predictability of profits and cash flows. Cyclicality raises refinancing and reinvestment risk in downturns, making long-term planning and stable returns harder to rely upon.
Inconsistent Cash ConversionModest operating cash flow relative to revenue and past negative FCF show sensitivity to working-capital swings and investment cycles. Inconsistent conversion undermines free cash flow reliability and can force financing or asset sales in stressed periods.
Meaningful Absolute DebtDespite improved ratios, a ~¥29B debt stock is sizeable and the firm's history of rising leverage during weak profit phases elevates financial risk. High absolute debt can constrain strategic choices and amplify stress if earnings revert downward.
