Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Low Leverage And Extended Cash RunwayA substantial cash runway combined with very low leverage gives Compugen flexibility to advance clinical programs without near-term financing pressure. This strengthens resilience while allowing the company to preserve strategic optionality as partnered milestones and clinical data develop.
Validated Discovery Platform And PipelineThe Unigen platform has produced multiple named immuno-oncology targets that progressed into development, providing evidence of repeatable discovery capability. A productive platform can replenish the pipeline, support collaborations, and create additional partnering opportunities over time.
Strong 2025 Financial InflectionThe sharp 2025 revenue and profitability improvement demonstrates that Compugen's partnership model can generate meaningful economics when milestones or collaboration payments are recognized. High reported margins also indicate attractive potential unit economics, even if timing remains uneven.
Bears Say
Volatile Collaboration-driven EarningsCompugen's recent profitability has not yet established a stable operating pattern because prior years included recurring losses and cash burn. Dependence on milestone and collaboration timing can make revenue, earnings, and cash generation difficult to sustain consistently across periods.
MAIA Has Limited Regulatory WeightThe MAIA readout may provide useful clinical signal, but its small exploratory design is not intended to demonstrate a registrational-level result. Without stronger confirmatory evidence or an agreed regulatory pathway, the study may have limited ability to directly support approval.
Partner Dependence Delays Value RealizationA large portion of potential economic value depends on AstraZeneca and Gilead advancing programs, producing successful data, and reaching future milestones. This reduces Compugen's control over timing and outcomes, while delayed Phase III results defer validation and potential royalty realization.

Company Description
Compugen Ltd
Compugen Ltd., an Israeli-based company established in 1993 and headquartered in Holon, is a clinical-stage enterprise focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of therapeutic and product candidates. Its operations extend across Israel, the United States, and Europe. The company’s core activities center around its immuno-oncology pipeline, which includes several investigational treatments: COM701, an anti-PVRIG antibody currently undergoing Phase I clinical studies for solid tumors. COM902, a therapeutic antibody designed to target TIGIT, which is also in Phase I clinical trials as a monotherapy for advanced malignancies. Bapotulimab, an antibody targeting ILDR2, presently in Phase I clinical development for solid tumor indications. AZD2936, an innovative bispecific antibody targeting both TIGIT and PD-1, advancing through Phase I/II clinical studies for patients with advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. Additionally, Compugen maintains earlier-stage immuno-oncology programs, with a particular emphasis on myeloid targets. To further its research and development, Compugen actively fosters strategic alliances. It has a collaboration agreement with Bayer Pharma AG for the research, development, and commercialization of antibody-based therapeutics that modulate immune checkpoint regulators. Another key partnership is with Bristol-Myers Squibb, aimed at evaluating the safety and tolerability of COM701 when administered alongside Bristol-Myers Squibb's PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibitor, Opdivo, in patients with advanced solid tumors. The company also collaborates with Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to investigate novel T cell and myeloid checkpoint targets, and has a distinct research collaboration with Johns Hopkins University specifically dedicated to myeloid science. Furthermore, Compugen holds a licensing agreement with AstraZeneca for the development of bi-specific and multi-specific immuno-oncology antibody products.
CGEN Earnings Call
Q2 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call conveyed measurable progress across Compugen's pipeline and partnerships — notable trial milestones (MAIA interim due Q1 2027), encouraging partner data (rilvegostomig ASCO OS signal), strengthened cash runway into 2029, and material milestone/royalty upside from Gilead and AstraZeneca. Offsetting these positives are key uncertainties: MAIA's exploratory design and lowered control-arm PFS benchmark, absence of pre-readout FDA engagement, early-stage status and limited visibility for GS-0321 data, dependency on partner execution for value realization, and continued modest absolute revenues with ongoing net losses. Overall, the fundamentals improved and near-term clinical and financial visibility increased, but meaningful regulatory and partner-driven milestones remain future-dependent.View all IL:CGEN earnings summariesCGEN Stock 12 Month Forecast
