Q2 2026 Earnings Call Summary

Q2 2026
Earnings Call Date:Aug 31, 2026|
% Change Since:
|
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call was predominantly positive, driven by strong GLIX1 clinical recruitment and tolerability, encouraging preclinical efficacy and combination data, progress in the pancreatic cancer trial, APHEXDA royalty generation, and funding expected to support operations into the first half of 2027. These positives were tempered by the higher quarterly net loss and R&D spending, flat revenue, the early stage of GLIX1 clinical development, uncertainty surrounding the pancreatic cancer treatment landscape, and the commercial work still required to expand APHEXDA adoption.
Company Guidance
BioLineRx expects the third of 5 planned GLIX1 Phase I cohorts to commence dosing in September, with the Phase I part expected to recruit up to 30 patients and Phase I data anticipated in the first half of 2027; the Phase IIa expansion is planned to include additional cohorts, including GBM, newly diagnosed and/or recurrent, as well as additional cancers with or without standard of care, for example, PARP inhibitors. The CheMo4METPANC trial’s prespecified interim/futility analysis is planned for when 40% of progression-free survival events are observed, expected later this year. Cash and equivalents of $13.1 million are sufficient to fund the operating plan as currently contemplated into the first half of 2027, and the $3.75 million offering is expected to close later today.
GLIX1 Clinical Trial Progressing Ahead of Plan
BioLineRx reported that recruitment to the Phase I/IIa GLIX1 trial in glioblastoma and other high-grade gliomas is going extremely well and that the trial continues to progress according to plan. Dosing began in the second of five planned Phase I cohorts last month, with the third cohort expected to begin dosing in September. The company has been pleased with GLIX1's safety and tolerability more than four months into the study and continues to anticipate Phase I data in the first half of 2027.
GLIX1 Trial Has Expanded Academic-Center Participation
The first patient was dosed in April at NYU Langone Health, and Northwestern University and Moffitt Cancer Center have also enrolled patients in the Phase I study. The Phase I portion is expected to recruit up to 30 patients with recurrent and progressive glioblastoma and other high-grade gliomas.
GLIX1 Demonstrated Broad Preclinical Activity in Glioblastoma
In three orthotopic cell-derived xenograft glioblastoma models, GLIX1 produced significant tumor growth inhibition and survival benefit across all doses tested, with greater benefit at higher dose levels. In a temozolomide-resistant patient-derived xenograft model, GLIX1 demonstrated a robust antitumor effect, while temozolomide showed no effect.
GLIX1 and Olaparib Showed Strong Synergy
In a patient-derived xenograft model of HR-proficient ovarian cancer, the low-dose GLIX1 and olaparib combination showed substantially better efficacy than the control and either molecule as monotherapy, despite using lower doses of each agent. The combination achieved tumor reduction comparable to cisplatin, the current chemotherapy benchmark in that setting.
Planned Expansion of GLIX1 Development
The planned Phase IIa expansion will include additional glioblastoma cohorts, newly diagnosed and/or recurrent disease, and additional cancers with or without standard of care, including PARP inhibitors. The company plans to include an ovarian cancer arm and has commenced initial discussions with several leading PARP inhibitor developers regarding potential collaborations.
GLIX1 Data Accepted for Multiple Scientific Presentations
GLIX1 data were accepted for presentation at the EANO 2026 Conference and the SNO 2026 Annual Meeting. Additional data on GLIX1 and PARP inhibitor synergy across HR-proficient ovarian cancer lines and a patient-derived xenograft model will be presented at the ESMO Annual Conference in Madrid in October.
CheMo4METPANC Enrollment Tracking Well
Enrollment continues to track well in the randomized Phase IIb CheMo4METPANC trial being executed by Columbia University with support from Regeneron and BioLineRx. The trial is evaluating motixafortide in combination with cemiplimab and standard chemotherapies gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel in pancreatic cancer.
APHEXDA Generated Product Sales and Royalty Revenue
APHEXDA generated sales of $1.6 million in the second quarter of 2026, resulting in $0.3 million of royalty revenue to BioLineRx.
Cash Runway and Additional Financing
BioLineRx ended the quarter with $13.1 million in cash and equivalents, which management stated is sufficient to fund the operating plan as currently contemplated into the first half of 2027. The company also announced a $3.75 million registered direct offering, expected to close later on the day of the call, and cited nondilutive royalties and milestone-driven revenue from its agreements with Ayrmid and Gloria Biosciences.
Reduced Nonoperating Expenses
Nonoperating expenses were $0.7 million for the three months ended June 30, 2026, compared with $1.9 million in the comparable 2025 period, a decrease of $1.2 million, or approximately 63%.
Underlying G&A Expense Was Slightly Lower
Although reported general and administrative expenses increased year over year, management stated that excluding the reversal of a $0.8 million doubtful-account provision in the 2025 period following receipt of an overdue Gloria milestone payment, G&A expenses were slightly lower in 2026 than in 2025.
Differentiated GLIX1 Profile and Unmet-Need Opportunity
Management highlighted GLIX1's oral, first-in-class mechanism, blood-brain barrier penetration, activity against patient-derived glioma stem cells and orthotopic glioblastoma models, lack of reliance on the immune system, and clean animal safety profile. The company described glioblastoma as a wide-open market with few competitors and estimated a combined U.S. and Europe total addressable market of more than $3.7 billion by 2030.
