Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
2025 Revenue Rebound2025 revenue rose about 16.6% year over year after a weak 2024, indicating some recovery in project delivery or sales activity. If sustained, a larger operating base could improve fixed-cost absorption, though the rebound has not yet restored profitability.
Positive Operating Cash FlowOperating and free cash flow both turned positive at about HK$1.5B in 2025 after being negative in 2022–2024. This is a constructive sign for project cash conversion and funding capacity, but the amount remains modest relative to liabilities and needs repetition.
Debt ReductionDebt has declined from its 2023–2024 levels, providing a limited improvement in financial flexibility and potentially reducing refinancing needs. However, the benefit is outweighed by negative equity and remains insufficient to materially resolve the company’s leverage burden.
Bears Say
Negative Equity And Solvency RiskEquity fell from about HK$70B in 2021 to a balance-sheet deficit in 2025 while debt remained near HK$99–128B. Negative equity weakens creditor protection and restricts refinancing flexibility, making solvency dependent on asset monetization, restructuring or lender support.
Severe Loss-Making OperationsGross margins were negative in 2024–2025 and net losses remained exceptionally large, with net margin roughly -100% in 2024 and worse in 2025. Persistent loss-making economics erode capital and suggest impairments, pricing pressure or project costs remain unresolved.
Long-Term Revenue ContractionRevenue has fallen materially since 2020 and remains volatile, with the 2025 rebound coming from a depressed 2024 base. This limits scale benefits, complicates project planning and indicates that demand, deliveries or market conditions have not yet stabilized.
