Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Balance Sheet RecoveryRestoring positive shareholders' equity after earlier negative-equity years reduces insolvency risk and improves creditor and supplier confidence. This structural repair enhances financial flexibility, supporting access to capital and operational resilience over the next several months.
Lower LeverageMaterial debt reduction and a moderate debt-to-equity ratio lower refinancing and interest burden versus prior years. An improved capital structure reduces fixed financing costs, enhances runway, and gives management more ability to fund a recovery without immediate distress-driven measures.
Demonstrated Cash-generation (2023)Positive operating and free cash flow in 2023 indicates the underlying retail operations can be cash-generative under achievable conditions. This shows operational levers exist to restore self-funded performance, providing a realistic pathway to sustainability if top-line and cost trends reverse.
Bears Say
Sharp Revenue DeclineA 22.9% year-over-year revenue drop in 2025 indicates significant demand or execution issues that reduce scale and market presence. Sustained top-line contraction weakens pricing power and fixed-cost absorption, making margin recovery and durable growth materially more difficult over the medium term.
Persistent Cash BurnNegative operating and free cash flow across 2024–2025 shows the core business is consuming cash rather than funding itself. Continued cash burn constrains reinvestment, forces external financing or asset dispositions, and raises refinancing and solvency risks that impair strategic options.
Deep And Sustained LossesThe swing from profit in 2023 to deep losses in 2024–2025, with net losses outstripping revenue, erodes returns and shareholder equity. Prolonged negative profitability limits internal funding, damages investor and supplier confidence, and reduces flexibility to invest in competitive advantages.
