Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Revenue Growth And Backlog VisibilityHigher revenue and a multiyear backlog support durable growth visibility. Contracted demand across generation and grid infrastructure can improve capacity utilization and reduce reliance on securing short-cycle orders.
Margin Expansion And Cash GenerationMaterial margin expansion and strong free cash flow indicate improving execution and cash conversion. Sustained profitability can strengthen self-funding capacity, support investment in growth businesses, and provide resilience across project cycles.
Improving Balance SheetLower debt and a stronger equity base improve financial flexibility for large infrastructure projects and strategic investment. Reduced leverage also lowers balance-sheet pressure when contract execution or industry demand becomes more volatile.
Bears Say
Siemens Gamesa Losses And Cash BurnOngoing wind losses and cash burn can dilute group cash generation and require continued turnaround investment. The long path to cash breakeven leaves Siemens Energy exposed to execution risk in a strategically important business.
Offshore Wind Execution HeadwindsProject slippage and weak bidding economics can defer revenue, reduce capacity utilization, and pressure returns in offshore wind. Persistent tender weakness may also limit the business's ability to convert its market position into profitable orders.
Historical Earnings VolatilityThe sharp swing from losses to strong TTM profitability shows that earnings remain sensitive to project execution, provisions, and industry cycles. This history makes future margin sustainability less certain despite the recent turnaround.

0SEA Earnings Call
Q3 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call presented clear operational progress: strong revenue (EUR 17.9bn), a sizable EUR 162bn order backlog, materially improved profitability (profit before special items ~3x prior year and 14.2% Q3 margin), improving free cash flow (EUR 7.2bn YTD) and a milestone positive quarter for the wind business. However, material challenges remain—most notably Siemens Gamesa's cash burn (≈-EUR 1.7bn YTD) and YTD loss, offshore order slippage and slower hydrogen market development—and there is organizational uncertainty around a potential Transformation of Industry carve‑out. Overall the positives (broad revenue/backlog strength, margin expansion, improving cash flow and wind turnaround) outweigh the negatives, but risks remain and execution will be critical to sustain momentum.View all GB:0SEA earnings summaries0SEA Stock 12 Month Forecast
