Bulls Say
Revenue Re-accelerationRevenue growth re-accelerated sharply in 2025 after a flat 2024, indicating stronger demand or consolidation contribution across Vicat’s markets. A larger revenue base can improve operating scale and support investment in the cement, concrete, and aggregates platform over coming quarters.
Resilient ProfitabilityEBITDA margin of about 20.9% and net margin of about 7.1% remained broadly consistent with 2023–2024 levels despite the strong 2025 growth. This resilience suggests the business retained meaningful earnings power as revenue expanded, supporting durable profitability.
Improving LeverageDebt-to-equity improved from about 0.81 in 2022 to 0.58 in 2025 while the equity base stayed steady. Combined with healthy, stable ROE of roughly 9–10% in 2023–2025, this points to better capital efficiency and greater financial resilience.
Bears Say
Gross-Margin VolatilityGross-margin volatility, including a sharp decline in 2025 versus 2024, signals that costs or product mix can materially affect profitability. This makes earnings quality less predictable and could limit the durability of otherwise solid EBITDA and net margins across cycles.
Weakening Cash ConversionOperating cash flow was about €649M in 2025, but free cash flow fell about 25% to €313M from 2024 and covered only about 48% of earnings. The pattern, including negative FCF in 2022, shows cash conversion is cyclical and sensitive to investment or working-capital swings.
Meaningful Absolute DebtAbsolute debt remained meaningful at about €1.69B in 2025 even after leverage improved. In a cyclical construction-materials market, that debt load can constrain flexibility, particularly when cash conversion weakens or investment and working-capital needs increase.
