Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Low Leverage / Strong Balance SheetVery low leverage gives Kratos durable financial flexibility to fund multi-year production ramps and capex without heavy refinancing. A strong equity base reduces default risk and supports strategic investments while absorbing temporary negative cash flows during scale-up.
Robust Backlog And BookingsNearly $2B of bookings and a multi‑billion bid pipeline provide multi‑period revenue visibility and underpin organic growth. A persistent book-to-bill above 1.0 signals sustained customer demand and a stronger probability of future contract conversion.
High-Growth Hypersonics & Engine RampRapidly scaling hypersonics and planned engine production create a structurally growing revenue stream. Multi-year program funding, facility buildouts, and repeatable component orders improve long-term topline visibility and the potential for higher-margin, defense-focused product mix.
Bears Say
Negative Cash GenerationSustained negative operating and free cash flow reduces internal funding for working capital and capex, increasing reliance on external financing or equity. Over months this can constrain execution, elevate financing costs, and force timing changes to investment plans.
Thin, Compressing MarginsMaterial gross‑margin compression and very low net/EBIT margins limit earnings power and return on invested capital. Over the medium term, thin profitability weakens cash conversion, reduces room for sustained R&D/capex, and heightens sensitivity to cost or FX shocks.
Execution & Working-Capital Strain From Scale-UpAggressive multi‑thousand engine builds and facility ramps require complex supply‑chain scaling and heavy inventory/receivable funding. This raises medium‑term execution risk, potential delays or cost overruns, and further working‑capital pressure that could impair margin expansion.

0JS0 Earnings Call
Q2 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call highlighted multiple strong operational and commercial developments: revenue and adjusted EBITDA beats, high organic growth (19.1% YoY), a robust $15B pipeline and nearly $2B of bookings over the last 12 months, rapid scaling of hypersonics (tracking $400M in 2026 and targeting $700M in 2027), major engine production plans (components ordered for 3,000 engines in 2027 and 5,000 in 2028) and expanding manufacturing capacity. These positives are tempered by near-term cash outflows driven by working capital and investment for scale-up, a $5M–$7M FY2026 EBITDA headwind from Israeli shekel strength, and reduced visibility on classified programs and supply-chain execution risk. Overall, the company is in an investment-and-scale phase with strong demand and program wins but with measurable short-term cash and FX headwinds.View all GB:0JS0 earnings summaries0JS0 Stock 12 Month Forecast
