Federal Screw Works, founded in 1917 and based in Romulus, Michigan, operates as a key manufacturer and supplier of industrial components. The company primarily serves the automotive industry within the United States, managing its operations through its Big Rapids, Romulus, Traverse City, and Novex Tool divisions. Its diverse product portfolio includes precision-engineered pins, crafted through cold-forming and machining, such as piston pins, planetary and differential gear shafts, and oil pump and steering shafts. These components cater to the automotive, refrigeration, and small engine sectors. Additionally, FSCR provides a variety of other cold-formed and machined products for the automotive industry, including suspension ball studs, fluid line adapters, and meticulously formed and machined valve lifter bodies. The company also specializes in high-tolerance machined goods, which are integral to critical vehicle systems like transmission valves, ball joints, steering gear bulkhead assemblies, torque converter hubs, and piston pins. Furthermore, Federal Screw Works offers a range of specialized engineered nut products—including prevailing torque, free-spinning, and slotted nuts, along with various nut retainer and washer assemblies—all designed for automotive applications. Beyond finished parts, FSCR manufactures cold form tooling, encompassing assemblies, sleeves, dies, and punches, as well as intricate cold-formed components like tie rod housings, valve lifter bodies, and suspension parts.
