Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Improving Free Cash FlowA materially higher free cash flow level is a durable positive: it strengthens the company’s ability to fund capex, service debt, and pay dividends without relying on external financing. Sustained FCF reduces refinancing risk and provides flexibility during auto-cycle troughs.
Positive Returns On EquityConsistent mid‑single digit ROE after 2020 indicates the business converts equity into profit reasonably well. That persistent return profile supports reinvestment and shareholder distributions and signals improved operating performance versus the pandemic trough.
Large, Stable Revenue BaseA multibillion-euro revenue base tied to OEM series production provides scale and predictable program revenues. Combined with recurring operating cash flow, this supports long-term supplier relationships, production planning and ability to absorb modest demand swings.
Bears Say
Thin Net MarginsSustained low net margins constrain the company’s ability to build reserves and buffer cyclical downturns. With limited margin headroom, commodity or mix shocks and price pressure from OEMs can quickly erode profitability and weaken cash available for strategic investment.
Elevated LeverageA meaningfully debt-funded balance sheet increases financial vulnerability in a cyclical industry: higher fixed interest costs reduce earnings resilience and limit room for discretionary spending, raising refinancing and covenant risks if cash flow softens.
Cooling Revenue TrendRecent revenue decline and negative growth metrics suggest demand softness or loss of program volumes. For an OEM‑tied supplier, sustained top‑line weakness undermines operating leverage, pressures margins and complicates funding of new program investments over the medium term.
