Q2 2026 Earnings Call Summary

Q2 2026
Earnings Call Date:Oct 28, 2026|% Change Since:-1.51%|
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive

The call was strongly positive overall. Management described very strong results, raised full-year guidance, cited robust demand across GPU, custom ASIC, and CPU testing, and outlined accelerating capacity expansion, market-share gains, and substantial ATE market opportunities. The principal challenges were higher DDR and component costs, expected margin pressure, memory scarcity, and limited disclosure on the timing of future capacity milestones.

Company Guidance

Management said it originally targeted 10,000 systems by the end of fiscal 2028, but the ramp “has to be accelerated pretty significantly,” with “high confidence” and a time frame likely to be pinpointed “in the next quarter or so”; it expects to ship more systems in Q3 and “even higher systems than in Q4,” with Q4 memory systems “quite strong,” while currency-adjusted first-half to second-half top-line growth is expected to be “28% growth, half-over-half.” ATE TAM CAGR has been “about 50% or a little above 50%,” is not expected to slow, and customer CAGRs are “mid to high 50s all the way through 2029”; CPO testing is expected to see “a double or tripling every year for the next couple of years,” reaching “somewhere in the billion-dollar ATE market size,” versus an overall SoC market “above $11 billion” growing at a “50%+ CAGR.” SoC tester share rose from 56% in 2024 to 66% in 2025, with a path “above 70%,” the “70% threshold” expected “in the near future,” share gains expected in 2026 and 2027, and the 70% market share expected “in the end of fiscal 2026 and the beginning of the fiscal 2027, in other words, April”; annual margins are “settling in at this low 50s,” pricing is expected to remain competitive with no “material impact,” and the next production-capacity step under discussion is “another doubling from 10,000 to 20,000,” with timing not yet disclosed and possible further detail by Mid-Term Plan 4 in the May timeframe.

  • Strong Results and Raised Full-Year GuidanceManagement reported very strong results and raised its full-year guidance while maintaining the CY 2026 SoC tester market outlook unchanged. The company expects continued revenue increases through the second half as capacity expansion enables it to ship more systems.
  • 28% First-Half to Second-Half Top-Line GrowthAfter adjusting for currency exchange, management expects 28% growth in the top line from the first half to the second half, describing this as significant and reflecting the ability to expand capacity and meet demand opportunities.
  • Elevated Demand Across GPU, Custom ASIC, and CPU TestersDemand is elevated across the entire compute device segment. GPU and custom ASIC demand remain very strong, while CPU demand has been stronger than the industry anticipated because of agentic AI. CPU volumes are also benefiting from inferencing, where the ratio of CPUs to GPUs has increased.
  • Accelerated SoC Tester Capacity ExpansionThe company is accelerating its plan to reach 10,000 SoC tester systems, compared with the original target of the end of fiscal 2028. Management has high confidence it can achieve the target but expects to provide a more precise timeframe in the next quarter. It is also actively discussing a further doubling from 10,000 to 20,000 systems based on customer demand.
  • Sustained ATE Market Growth OutlookManagement said the ATE TAM CAGR has been about 50% or a little above 50% over the last couple of years and does not see that slowing down. Growth is expected to continue to be led by GPU, custom ASIC, and CPU demand. Customer expectations cited by management indicate CAGRs of mid to high 50s through 2029, and the company believes the TAM could be in line with previous years and potentially even larger.
  • CPO and Terafab OpportunitiesCPO testing requires lengthy test times to guarantee good yields for optical engines, providing a tailwind for that business. Management has previously expected CPO-related activity to double or triple every year for the next couple of years, reaching an ATE market size of somewhere around $1 billion. Management also described Terafab as very real, with potential to lead to meaningful future business, supported by a genuine need for additional SoC and memory capacity.
  • SoC Tester Market Share GainsSoC tester market share increased from 56% in 2024 to 66% in 2025. Management sees a path above 70% and expects to gain share in 2026 and continue gaining share in 2027. The company cited expansion among incumbent customers, meaningful opportunities in accounts where it was not previously the incumbent, and the 93,000 being increasingly considered an industry standard for high-performance compute. Management said the 70% level is expected around the end of fiscal 2026 and the beginning of fiscal 2027, in other words April.
  • Higher Second-Half ShipmentsManagement expects to ship more systems in Q3 and even more systems in Q4. SoC system revenue is expected to increase through the second half, and Q4 memory-system revenue is also expected to be quite strong, with both trends attributed to capacity expansion and the ability to ship more systems.
  • Broad Position Across High-Performance ComputeThe company said it has a very high market share across GPU, custom ASIC, and CPU testing, with a majority of the market in these areas. It also described itself as the dominant player in accelerators, custom ASICs, and CPU testing, while stating that its Silicon Photonics market share is strong and growing. The company is positioned across both x86 and Arm-based CPU accounts.
  • Margins Remain at a High Level and Pricing Is CompetitiveManagement said it is maintaining healthy margins, can absorb increases in component costs, and does not expect a material pricing impact. It plans to maintain competitive pricing. New configurations, licensing, and instrumentation provide opportunities to reprice products and expand margins as device complexity increases.
  • Supply Support from Customers and SuppliersAlthough memory availability is tight, management said customers understand that they need to provide memory for testers and that the industry previously coordinated during the 2021 and 2022 supply-chain shortages. The company also said it has very good suppliers that are helping it obtain components.
