Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Fiber Scale And Customer Growth
Rapid growth in fiber subscribers and revenue is strengthening the company’s higher-quality connectivity platform. Rising scale should improve network utilization, support recurring subscription revenue, and gradually shift the business toward markets with stronger demand and better long-term growth prospects.
Improving Fiber Margins
Margin expansion alongside fiber growth indicates operating leverage as the network gains customers and revenue density. If management’s outlook is achieved, stronger EBITDA conversion can provide additional funding capacity for expansion and help offset pressure from declining legacy operations.
Debt Maturity And Deleveraging Path
A distant maturity schedule and predominantly fixed-rate debt reduce near-term refinancing and interest-rate exposure. Management’s planned deleveraging would improve financial flexibility over time, allowing more cash generation to support network operations and strategic investment rather than debt service.
Bears Say
Persistent Negative Free Cash Flow
Sustained negative free cash flow means current network investment and other cash demands are not being funded internally. Until the projected 2027 inflection occurs, the company remains dependent on balance-sheet capacity, grants, or financing, which constrains flexibility if operating progress slows.
Higher Leverage And Weak Returns
Rising leverage combined with negative returns indicates that the capital base is not yet producing adequate earnings. This limits resilience during execution setbacks and leaves less room for discretionary investment, while the company works to convert fiber growth into sufficient profitability and cash generation.
Legacy Broadband Deterioration
Declining legacy revenue, customer losses, and lower pricing create a continuing drag on consolidated performance. These trends can offset part of the fiber expansion benefit and make the transition more demanding, particularly where wired competition and household budget pressure remain evident.

SH9 Earnings Call
Earnings Call SentimentPositive
The call was broadly positive. Strong Glo Fiber subscriber additions, 19.5% fiber revenue growth, double-digit adjusted EBITDA growth, expanding margins, near-complete network construction, and the expected transition to positive free cash flow in 2027 significantly outweighed challenges including higher capital expenditure guidance, incumbent-market churn and ARPU declines, RLEC revenue pressure, and management's concerns about the stock valuation.
