Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Integrated Business ModelMHP’s integration across feed inputs, animal production, processing and distribution allows it to capture margin at multiple stages of the poultry value chain. This structure can support supply coordination, product development and resilience across changing end-market conditions.
Diversified European And Agricultural GrowthEuropean operations and Agriculture are providing meaningful earnings diversification beyond the core poultry business. Their contribution can reduce reliance on a single market or segment and supports a more balanced earnings base over the next several quarters.
Strong Revenue ExpansionRapid revenue growth indicates expanding business scale, supported primarily by UVESA consolidation and European operations. A larger revenue base can improve operating reach and create more opportunities to grow branded, processed and geographically diversified products.
Bears Say
Sharp Profitability DeteriorationThe substantial decline in earnings and adjusted EBITDA shows that revenue growth is not currently translating into stable profitability. Persistent margin pressure would reduce reinvestment capacity, weaken returns on capital and make earnings more dependent on recovery in poultry conditions.
Meaningful LeverageDebt remains high relative to equity for a cyclical agricultural business, while acquisition leverage is close to the 3.0x covenant limit. This reduces financial flexibility and could constrain future investment or acquisitions if operating performance weakens.
Weak Cash GenerationMostly negative free cash flow and modest operating cash generation limit MHP’s ability to fund growth internally or accelerate debt reduction. Continued cash conversion weakness would increase reliance on financing and make the balance sheet more sensitive to earnings volatility.

Company Description
MHP SE Sponsored GDR RegS
MHP SE, alongside its various subsidiaries, operates as a significant producer and distributor of food and poultry products, serving markets both within Ukraine and globally. The company organizes its extensive operations into four distinct divisions: Poultry & Related Operations, Grain Growing Operations, Meat-Processing & Other Agricultural Operations, and European Operating. Within the Poultry & Related Operations segment, MHP SE is responsible for manufacturing and supplying fresh and frozen chicken, various vegetable oils—including sunflower and soybean—and animal feed. A wide array of these products, under brand names such as Nasha Riaba, Apetytna, Baschinsky, Vinnytski Kurchata, Kurator, Sultanah, Assilah, Al-Hassanat, Home Style Chicken, Ukrainian Chicken, and Chef's Secrets, are specifically targeted for export. Its Grain Growing Operations division focuses on cultivating crops, which are then used both for its own fodder production and for sale to external clients. The Meat-Processing & Other Agricultural Operations segment encompasses the creation and distribution of sausages, processed and ready-to-eat meats, convenience foods, as well as goods derived from cattle and dairy farming. These items are marketed under labels including Bashchinsky, Lehko!, Qualiko, Skott Smeat, and Sytni. Meanwhile, the European Operating segment handles the manufacturing and commercialization of chicken meat and processed poultry products, distributed under the PP and Poli brands. Beyond these core activities, MHP SE is also actively involved in hatching eggs. Additionally, it cultivates a range of crops—including corn, sunflower, soybean seeds, rapeseed, and wheat—for supply to third-party purchasers. Established in 1998, MHP SE maintains its corporate headquarters in Kyiv, Ukraine.

MPQ Earnings Call
Q1 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Neutral
The call presents a mixed picture: strong top-line growth (revenue +31% YoY) and tangible progress on European expansion and agricultural performance are counterbalanced by a notable decline in adjusted EBITDA (~29%), an attributable net loss from FX effects, weakened poultry profitability due to lower export prices and higher energy-driven production costs, and weaker operating cash flow. Management highlights diversification benefits (UVESA consolidation, agriculture strength, vegetable oil recovery) and outlines further M&A (Nitsiakos) and a conservative full-year EBITDA target (USD 520–550M), but acknowledges material near-term headwinds and seasonality risk in poultry.View all DE:MPQ earnings summariesTechnical Analysis
