Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Margins And ProfitabilitySustained high gross and operating margins indicate durable pricing power and efficient cost control in a commodity-linked sector. Elevated EBITDA margins provide an earnings buffer during cycles, support internal funding of capex and dividends, and underpin a healthy return on equity profile.
Market Leadership And Volume GrowthConsistent volume growth and dominant cement share in northern Peru reflect strong distribution, customer relationships and local scale advantages. Growing shipments translate to better plant utilization, lower unit costs and stronger negotiating leverage with suppliers and project customers over time.
Improving Deleveraging And Cash GenerationSharply better free cash flow and declining leverage increase financial flexibility. Predictable sustaining capex and lower net debt/EBITDA improve the company's ability to fund growth, withstand cyclical downturns, and execute capital allocation (debt paydown, dividend continuity or targeted investments).
Bears Say
Meaningful Balance-sheet LeverageLeverage above 1x limits runway for aggressive expansion and raises refinancing and interest-rate vulnerability in a cyclical industry. Elevated debt can constrain strategic flexibility, increase fixed financial costs, and amplify downside risk if construction demand softens or input costs spike.
Inconsistent Cash-flow ConversionVolatile cash conversion undermines the reliability of reported earnings for funding operations and capex. Episodic weak OCF may force higher borrowing or cutbacks in sustaining investments during stress periods, reducing resilience and complicating medium-term planning.
Project Concentration And Input/weather RisksDependence on a few large projects and volatile input costs (coal, clinker imports) create structural margin and revenue volatility. Weather events like El Niño can disrupt northern Peru operations and demand timing, making medium-term volumes and margins less predictable.

Company Description
Cementos Pacasmayo S.a.a.
Cementos Pacasmayo S.A.A. (CPAC) is a prominent Peruvian enterprise engaged in the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of cement and related building materials throughout Peru. Its operations are structured into three primary business units: Cement, Concrete and Precast Products; Quicklime; and the provision of Construction Supplies. The company's core product is cement, which is crucial for a broad spectrum of applications, ranging from residential and commercial construction endeavors to significant civil engineering projects. Beyond cement, CPAC produces ready-mix concrete, directly delivered and utilized at construction sites, alongside a diverse array of concrete precast elements. These precast items include paving units (such as paver stones for pedestrian walkways), various types of bricks for partition walls, and other concrete components for both structural and non-structural uses. The company also offers other cement-based goods. Furthermore, Cementos Pacasmayo produces and supplies quicklime, an essential raw material for various industrial sectors, including steel manufacturing, food processing, fishing, chemical production, mining, and agriculture. To augment its proprietary offerings, the company also distributes construction materials manufactured by external parties, such as steel rebars, cables, and pipes. As of March 31, 2022, its robust distribution system included 240 independent retail outlets and 379 hardware stores. Cementos Pacasmayo also directly supplies its products to other retailers, private construction enterprises, and governmental bodies. The company was founded in 1949, with its main office located in Lima, Peru. Cementos Pacasmayo S.A.A. operates as a subsidiary of Inversiones ASPI S.A.

EPCC Earnings Call
Q2 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call presents a strongly positive operational and financial story: robust volume growth, double-digit revenue increases, materially higher EBITDA and net income, margin expansion, disciplined cost control, improving leverage and clear sustainability and innovation milestones. Headwinds are manageable but notable: a small decline in cement gross margin due to input costs and maintenance, concentrated project-driven variability in the concrete segment (with some dependency on Yanacocha), higher year-to-date selling spend, and short-term risk from El Niño. Overall, positive execution and balance-sheet improvement outweigh the contained challenges.View all DE:EPCC earnings summariesEPCC Stock 12 Month Forecast
