Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary
The call was strongly positive. Q3 delivered broad-based double-digit growth, market-share gains, materially higher gross and EBIT margins, improving customer engagement, a stronger inventory position, and upgraded full-year expectations. The main challenges were flat average order value, higher fulfillment and administrative costs, temporarily lower free cash flow, Q4 promotional pressure, and acknowledged inventory and fashion risk. Management nevertheless described momentum as strong and entered the peak season with confidence.
For 2026, management expects both the revenue growth guidance and the EBIT margin guidance to end in the high end of the ranges; Hermann referred to guiding close to 7% adjusted EBIT margin versus 5.7% last year, with a medium target of around 10%. The commercial reorganization will entail one-off costs of around SEK 40 million in Q4 and, all else equal, add around 0.3 percentage points to the EBIT margin starting already from November this year. For 2027, next year’s CapEx will include just below SEK 200 million for the fourth AutoStore system, which will be up and running no later than Q3 2027; the target is to continue double-digit growth, but they haven’t done guidance yet, while cash conversion and cash flow will remain strong and capacity for cash distribution to shareholders will continue again next year.
- Broader Department-Store EngagementClose to 200,000 more customers shopped across categories than a year ago. Over the last 12 months, customers shopping in more than one category increased 13%, while customers buying from all six categories grew 20%. Management stated that all category groups were growing by double digits, compared with high-single-digit growth in Q1.
- Expanded Autumn/Winter AssortmentBoozt launched its broadest autumn/winter collection ever, with around 55% more style variations than last year. Management said the assortment was well received from the first week and that women’s-fashion growth lifted the other categories, which also grew by double digits.
- Higher Order Volumes and Fulfillment InitiativesOrders increased 18% in Q3, and the Ängelholm fulfillment center shipped 1.9 million orders, up 16% year over year. A new returns handling center is processing, repacking, and returning products to sale faster, while Beauty products such as Hasbro and perfume will be machine-picked in the same flow as other orders from Q4.
- Planned AutoStore Capacity ExpansionBoozt plans to invest just below SEK 200 million in a fourth AutoStore system in Ängelholm, scheduled to be operational no later than Q3 2027. The first phase is expected to provide roughly a 20% to 25% capacity increase, while the full investment is expected to increase capacity by approximately 40% and support double-digit growth through around 2029 or 2030.
- More Efficient MarketingThe marketing budget has been redirected toward acquiring new customers and increasing existing customers’ category penetration, while spending has shifted away from last-click advertising toward brand awareness and trust campaigns. The content engine is around 10 times larger than before, producing more than 600 local videos and category posts per month, and creator-produced content has doubled return on ad spend. The marketing cost ratio declined to 9.2% from 10.1% over the last 12 months.
- Higher Other Revenue from Boozt Media PartnershipOther revenue increased 21%, primarily driven by the Boozt Media Partnership as brands increased activity around the autumn/winter launch. Management described this as important to its short-term and long-term gross-margin ambitions.
- Strong Peak-Season Inventory PositionInventory stood at SEK 3.8 billion at the end of Q3, up 21% from last year. Management said inventory quality was high and relevant, with stock from two seasons ago around 30% lower than at the same time last year. The company entered Black Friday and the Christmas period with more stock and a broader, fresher assortment than last year.
- Balance Sheet Strength and Share BuybacksBoozt remained highly cash generative and had basically no debt at the end of Q3. During the first nine months, the company repurchased shares for SEK 318 million and stated that its capacity for cash distributions to shareholders will continue next year.
- Commercial Reorganization and Operating Leverage OpportunityBoozt removed a management layer to create shorter decision paths, clearer ownership, and faster responses to customer demand. The new structure was implemented on November 1. Management expects the change to add around 0.3 percentage points to the EBIT margin on a full-year basis starting in November, all else equal.
- Technology and AI Supporting Customer Experience and Inventory DecisionsAI-supported search, a shopping assistant, personalization, and local planning tools are being used to improve the customer journey and tailor campaigns. Management also said technology and AI are helping detect changes in consumer tastes faster and on a country-by-country basis.
- Double-Digit Growth Ambition and Long-Term Margin ProgressManagement reaffirmed its target to continue double-digit growth in the coming years and said the business aims to double revenue over time without materially increasing employee numbers. Management also stated that scale, a simple organization, technology, and AI should help move the adjusted EBIT margin toward its medium-term target of around 10%; the company expects roughly 7% for full-year 2026.
- Strong Q3 Revenue Growth and Market-Share GainsRevenue grew 16% in constant currency and 17% in reported terms, accelerating from 13% growth in Q2. Growth was broad-based, with every category and major market growing by double digits. Sweden grew 13%, Denmark 15%, and Norway around 20% in constant currency. Management stated that Boozt won market share across all categories.
- Improved Profitability and Gross MarginAdjusted EBIT margin improved to 5.5% from 4.0% last year, an increase of 150 basis points. Adjusted EBIT grew almost 60% to SEK 107 million. Gross margin reached 40.0%, up 2.6 percentage points year over year, including a 0.5 percentage-point currency benefit; the remaining improvement was attributed to better buying terms, less markdown activity, and clearer differentiation between Boozt and Booztlet.
- Revenue and Margin Outlook Upgraded to High EndFollowing strong October trading, management expects both revenue growth and adjusted EBIT margin for the full year to land at the high end of their respective ranges. This followed three outlook upgrades during the year.
- Expansion of Active and Women’s-Fashion CustomersBoozt.com reached 3 million active customers over the last 12 months. The number of active customers shopping women’s fashion grew 70% year over year, while approximately 20% more customers shopped on Boozt.com in Q3 than a year ago. Management said growth came from both new customers and previous customer cohorts, with older cohorts buying more than in the previous year for the first time since COVID.
