Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Wholesale Revenue SurgeA 58.1% wholesale revenue surge and wholesale overtaking retail signals a structural shift toward large, higher-value customers. This durable mix change tends to produce steadier, higher-margin contracts, improving long-term adjusted EBITDA conversion and revenue visibility across quarters.
Large Secured Pipeline & PrecommitmentA 2.48 GW resource base with ~516 MW under construction and 85.8% precommitment gives durable forward revenue visibility. High precommitment reduces lease-up risk, supports staged capex planning, and increases predictability of utilization and cashflows over multiple quarters.
Asset Monetization & Capital RecyclingProgress on REIT/asset monetization and private projects provides a recurring capital recycling mechanism. Realized proceeds materially lower funding pressure for growth capex versus pure debt/equity raises, supporting liquidity and enabling reinvestment with less shareholder dilution over time.
Bears Say
Very High LeverageDebt-to-equity near 4.3x and rising absolute debt materially increase refinancing and interest expense risk. High leverage limits strategic flexibility, raises the cost of additional capital, and amplifies downside to equity holders if operating or asset-sale plans underdeliver.
Deep Negative Free Cash FlowPersistently negative FCF (~-RMB 5.9B TTM) despite positive operating cash flows reflects heavy capex and losses. This undermines self-funding capacity, increases reliance on asset sales and external financing, and raises execution risk if capital markets or monetization options tighten.
CapEx Intensity & Execution ConstraintsHigh capex (RMB 10–12B) with back-loaded deliveries and power/quota approvals concentrates execution risk. Delays or regulatory/utility bottlenecks can postpone revenue recognition, compress near-term liquidity around debt maturities, and magnify refinancing or operational strain.

Q2 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call highlighted robust operational execution and strong wholesale-led revenue and profitability growth (notably wholesale revenues +58.1% and adjusted EBITDA +30.6%), a sizable secured resource and order pipeline, improved margins, solid liquidity and progress on asset monetization and ESG goals. Offsetting risks include heavy capital intensity (RMB 10–12 billion CapEx guidance), back‑loaded delivery that concentrates revenue recognition in H2, regulatory/power quota constraints, near-term debt maturities, and modest retail growth. On balance, the positive operational and financial momentum materially outweighs the manageable execution and capital demands.View all DE:217A earnings summaries217A Stock 12 Month Forecast
