Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Low Leverage / Strong Balance SheetA low debt-to-equity (~0.09) provides durable financial flexibility to fund infrastructure builds, absorb commodity-driven cash swings, and pursue bolt-on acquisitions without risking solvency. This reduces refinancing risk and supports multi-year growth investments.
High‑margin Water Infrastructure GrowthThe Infrastructure business generates mid‑to‑high 50% gross margins before D&A and is targeting 25%–30% full‑year growth. Such high, sustainable segment margins and double‑digit growth provide durable earnings leverage as infrastructure volumes and reuse scale.
Long-term Contracts & Asset AddsMulti‑year MVCs, SWD conveyances and targeted acquisitions create contracted throughput and proprietary infrastructure. This increases recurring revenue visibility, supports higher utilization and margins over several years, and enhances commercialization optionality across basins.
Bears Say
Negative Free Cash FlowDespite improved operating cash, free cash flow weakness in 2025 and TTM reflects heavy reinvestment and working‑capital absorption. Persistently negative FCF limits discretionary capital (debt paydown, dividends, buybacks) and increases reliance on execution to extract returns from new assets.
Elevated 2026 Capex BurdenMaterial near‑term capex to build infrastructure will constrain free cash flow for at least a year. The strategy assumes payoff in 2027+; any delays, cost overruns, or lower-than-expected commercialization would prolong negative cash conversion and pressure returns.
Commodity & Skim Oil ExposureRevenue and gross profits depend on produced‑water volumes and skim‑oil economics. Ongoing commodity and skim oil price volatility can materially swing margins and cash flow, making underlying performance cyclically sensitive despite structural infrastructure gains.

18RA Earnings Call
Q2 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call was overwhelmingly positive: management reported record revenue and adjusted EBITDA, strong segment performance (notably Water Infrastructure and Chemical Technologies), meaningful operating cash flow improvement, and secured a large MVC plus strategic asset conveyances and acquisitions that expand commercial optionality. Near‑term headwinds include elevated 2026 capital spending that will constrain free cash flow this year, some seasonal and commodity price sensitivity (skim oil volatility), and expected modest near‑term revenue variability in Chemical Technologies and Water Services. Management expects continued double‑digit Infrastructure growth into 2027 and eventual free cash flow improvement as infrastructure build matures.View all DE:18RA earnings summaries18RA Stock 12 Month Forecast
