Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Revenue MomentumA clear revenue jump in 2025 and consistently positive profitability indicate durable top-line momentum and operating capability across segments. That trend supports long-term cash generation potential from both financial services and industrial businesses if sustained beyond one cycle.
Diversified ModelA multi-segment business model combining banking/financial services with industrial operations provides structural diversification of earnings and risk. Interest, fee income, industrial sales and dividends from associates reduce reliance on any single cyclical sector over the medium term.
Stable ROEBroadly stable-to-rising equity supporting a steady high-single-digit ROE suggests the group is extracting reasonable returns from its asset base. That sustained ROE underpins dividend capacity and signals competent capital allocation despite conglomerate complexity.
Bears Say
High LeverageVery large debt versus equity materially constrains financial flexibility and raises funding cost sensitivity. Elevated leverage increases vulnerability to interest-rate shocks, limits scope for M&A or buybacks, and heightens refinancing and liquidity risk across economic cycles.
Weak Cash ConversionMulti-year negative operating and free cash flow until 2025 points to inconsistent cash conversion and working-capital strain. Even with 2025 improvement, uneven cash generation limits ability to deleverage, sustainably fund investments, or absorb shocks without relying on external financing.
Earnings VolatilityPronounced swings in operating profit and EBITDA reflect earnings sensitivity to commodity cycles, credit costs and industrial demand. This volatility reduces forecastability of cash flows, complicates capital allocation and raises the likelihood of episodic earnings weakness.
