Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary

Q3 2026
Earnings Call Date:Nov 04, 2026|% Change Since:0.47%|
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive

The call was strongly positive overall. Management reported record third-quarter financial results, broad-based growth across mobile, broadband, ICT and international businesses, strong cash flow, record ICT order intake and continued progress in AI, 5G and global expansion. The main challenges were a slight decline in Enterprise Business Group income before tax, lower ICT project margins, higher sports-rights and personnel-related costs, reliance on a one-time asset revitalization contribution, and a prior-year comparison affecting international ICT. These lowlights were outweighed by the breadth and strength of the reported operating and financial improvements.

Company Guidance

Management is “quite confident that we will exceed our full year's forecast” and said the results “reinforce our confidence in meeting and potentially exceeding our full year guidance”; stand-alone 5G population coverage is “expected to exceed 50% by the end of 2026,” with nationwide coverage to follow in 2027 and network slicing functionality expected in 2027, while 5G penetration is anticipated to “surpass 50% by year-end.” Management expects fixed broadband “growth dynamics to continue alongside the ongoing digital demand,” does not expect “a contribution of similar size in the near term” from asset revitalization, expects ICT margins to improve, and expects recurring revenue to play a larger role, especially as Linkou AIDC comes online.

  • Record Third-Quarter Financial PerformanceThird-quarter revenue, operating income, net income, EBITDA and EPS all exceeded the upper end of guidance and reached their highest levels for any third quarter since 2009. Consolidated revenue was TWD 67.59 billion, up 16.7% year-over-year; income from operations increased 27.1%; net income grew 29.5%; and EPS reached TWD 1.57.
  • Strong EBITDA and ProfitabilityThird-quarter EBITDA increased 16.1% year-over-year to TWD 25.66 billion, representing an EBITDA margin of 37.97%. Income from operations grew faster than revenue due to the one-time asset revitalization contribution, stronger earnings at Chunghwa Precision Test and resilient core telecom operations.
