Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Free Cash Flow & BuybacksVery strong free cash flow (Q3 FCF $1.77B; TTM FCF ~$2.36B) combined with aggressive buybacks (> $8.5B cumulative) demonstrates durable cash generation and disciplined capital allocation. This supports content investment, rights payments, and digital growth while returning capital to shareholders, and provides a financial buffer during advertising cycles.
Tubi Streaming Scale & ProfitabilityTubi's 23% revenue growth, rising engagement (+19% view time) and near-breakeven results indicate improving unit economics and scale. As Tubi approaches sustained profitability, it reduces Fox's streaming cash drag and diversifies revenue away from linear ad cycles, enhancing long-term margin potential and distribution leverage.
FOX News Audience & Pricing PowerStrong audience gains and a ~45% increase in CPMs show FOX News has significant monetization power and resilient demand. High share of wallet from advertisers and durable viewership create a reliable high-margin revenue base, helping offset volatility in other ad-sensitive programming and supporting overall profitability.
Bears Say
Advertising Volatility & Event DependenceAdvertising results are materially lumpy and tied to big live events (e.g., Super Bowl), creating quarter-to-quarter swings. This event-dependence complicates revenue predictability and can pressure margins in non-event quarters, making operating performance more sensitive to event timing over the medium term.
Third-party Subscriber ErosionDespite stabilization, ongoing third-party distributor subscriber declines (~6.5%) continue to pressure affiliate and retransmission revenue. Persistent cord-cutting limits growth in a key recurring revenue stream and forces greater reliance on direct-to-consumer efforts, which may take time and investment to fully offset distribution losses.
Meaningful Debt & Margin CompressionA sizable debt load (~$6.6B) and signs of margin and FCF softening versus FY2025 reduce financial flexibility. While leverage is manageable, higher sports rights amortization and revenue pressures increase the risk that refinancing, rights bidding, or investment choices could constrain cash available for growth or returns over the medium term.

Company Description
Fox
Fox Corporation is a prominent media conglomerate primarily focused on news, sports, and entertainment operations within the United States. Its business is structured across three main divisions: Cable Network Programming; Television; and a segment encompassing Other, Corporate, and Eliminations. The Cable Network Programming division is responsible for creating and licensing news, business news, and sports content. This content is then disseminated across the U.S. through both traditional and virtual multi-channel video programming distributors (MVPDs), as well as various other digital platforms. This segment's extensive portfolio includes well-known national cable channels such as FOX News (for general news) and FOX Business (for financial news), multi-sport networks FS1 and FS2, FOX Sports Racing (dedicated to motorsports), FOX Soccer Plus (featuring live soccer and rugby), FOX Deportes (a Spanish-language sports service), and the Big Ten Network. Meanwhile, the Television segment focuses on acquiring, developing, marketing, and distributing diverse programming. It operates The FOX Network, a national broadcast television network renowned for its sports and entertainment programming. Other key assets in this division include Tubi, an advertising-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) service; Fox Alternative Entertainment, a full-service production studio specializing in unscripted and alternative content; MyNetworkTV, a programming distribution service; and Blockchain Creative Labs, which is dedicated to the creation, distribution, and monetization of Web3 content. Additionally, this segment holds ownership and operational control over 29 broadcast television stations. The Other, Corporate and Eliminations segment notably manages the FOX Studios Lot, situated in Los Angeles, California. This comprehensive facility offers a range of production and post-production services, comprising 15 sound stages, two broadcast studios, theaters, screening rooms, editing facilities, and numerous other amenities for television and film production. Fox Corporation was established in 2018 and is headquartered in New York, New York.
FOX1 Earnings Call
Q3 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call emphasized multiple strong operating and financial trends: record third-quarter adjusted EBITDA (+11%), robust free cash flow ($1.77B), aggressive share repurchases, strong audience and pricing gains at FOX News (CPMs +45%), meaningful growth and improving profitability at Tubi (revenue +23%, view time +19%, near-breakeven), early success of Fox One stabilizing distribution trends, and strong sports ratings and strategic NFL additions. The primary negatives were headline advertising declines and GAAP net income compression driven by the absence of the prior-year Super Bowl and higher sports rights amortization in the Cable segment. Overall, the positive operational momentum, cash generation, and capital returns outweigh the event-driven advertising and GAAP earnings headwinds.View all MX:FOX1 earnings summariesFOX1 Revenue Breakdown
