Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Revenue And Profit GrowthSteady revenue growth, with acceleration in 2026 versus 2025, alongside higher operating and net margins, indicates improving operating execution. Meaningful net-income growth can strengthen internal funding capacity and support continued investment across the group’s retail formats.
Improved Balance SheetThe substantial reduction in debt-to-equity materially improves financial flexibility and lowers balance-sheet pressure compared with 2022. A stronger equity base and reduced debt burden give management more capacity to sustain operations, fund initiatives, and manage changes in retail demand.
Positive Cash GenerationPositive free cash flow and conversion of roughly 70% of net income show that reported profitability is translating into meaningful cash generation. This supports reinvestment, debt management, and shareholder capital allocation, even though the consistency of conversion still requires monitoring.
Bears Say
Gross Margin PressureThe decline in gross margin from its 2024 peak suggests that pricing or cost pressure is affecting the spread earned on merchandise. If this persists, it could limit the benefit of revenue growth and require continued operating improvements to protect overall profitability.
Low Operating Cash ConversionOperating cash flow relative to revenue remains modest, indicating that sales and accounting earnings are not converting into operating cash at a particularly strong rate. Persistently weak conversion could constrain internally funded expansion and make working-capital discipline more important.
Substantial Absolute DebtAlthough leverage has improved materially, substantial absolute debt remains a continuing financial obligation. Maintaining earnings momentum and disciplined capital allocation is therefore important, because weaker operating performance could reduce flexibility and make debt management more demanding.
