Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Margin ExpansionThe recovery in gross, EBIT and net margins indicates improved profitability after prior weakness. If maintained, stronger economics can lift earnings from modest revenue growth and provide more internal capacity to absorb costs or reinvest in the business over the next several quarters.
Revenue ReboundRevenue rebounded 4.1% in FY2026 after modest FY2025 growth, showing the business regained top-line traction following earlier weakness. Continued positive growth would broaden the base for margin gains and help make the recent profitability improvement more durable.
Improving Equity BaseEquity increased materially to about ¥535M from ¥100M in FY2023, while debt-to-equity fell from roughly 30.0 to 4.27. This strengthens the balance-sheet trajectory and reduces, though does not remove, the financial fragility created by prior leverage.
Bears Say
Elevated LeverageDebt-to-equity remains elevated at about 4.27, leaving the company more exposed to financing costs and balance-sheet stress than a lightly leveraged business. Although leverage has improved, the still-thin equity cushion can constrain flexibility during weaker operating periods.
Weaker Cash ConversionThe FY2026 decline in operating cash flow and free cash flow, together with conversion of only about 30% of net income, weakens earnings quality. Less cash generated from reported profits can reduce capacity to repay debt, fund investment, or withstand working-capital demands.
Earnings VolatilityA sizable FY2023 net loss followed by only moderate recent revenue growth shows that earnings remain sensitive to operating conditions. The margin recovery is encouraging, but volatility makes future profitability less dependable and increases the importance of sustaining both sales growth and cost discipline.
