Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Cash GenerationSustained operating and free cash flow at the TTM scale provides durable internal funding for sustaining and growth capex, exploration, buybacks and dividends. Strong cash conversion (FCF ~79% of net income TTM) gives flexibility through commodity cycles and reduces reliance on external financing.
Balance Sheet StrengthLow reported leverage and multi‑billion liquidity provide structural financial resilience. Manageable debt and a large cash buffer support capital returns, project funding and margin support during commodity downturns, improving long-term strategic optionality.
Diversified Production MixMeaningful FCF contribution from recent acquisitions diversifies revenue and reduces single-mine concentration risk. Growing multi-jurisdiction footprint and scale from Canadian assets improve resource optionality, hedging localized operational or grade variability over time.
Bears Say
Operational Execution RiskPersistent ramp delays and contractor execution gaps at key growth assets create durable delivery risk for forecast volumes and unit costs. Slower throughput and staged recoveries can depress mine-level free cash flow and require incremental capex/opex to remediate over multiple quarters.
Acquisition Accounting DistortionLarge noncash acquisition uplifts materially inflate reported CAS and EBITDA in the near term, complicating unit-cost comparability and management performance assessment. These accounting effects can obscure true operating trends until fully amortized or flowed through, lasting several quarters.
Historical Cyclicality & VolatilityA history of large swings in equity, leverage and prolonged cash burn highlights sensitivity to metal prices and execution. Though current metrics are strong, past volatility signals that cash flow and balance sheet strength may materially reverse in a commodity downturn, increasing long-term execution risk.

Company Description
Coeur Mining
Coeur Mining, Inc. is a company primarily focused on the exploration and development of precious metal deposits across North America, with operations spanning the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The company's key activities involve discovering and extracting resources such as gold, silver, zinc, and lead. Coeur Mining maintains a 100% ownership stake in several significant mining assets. These include the Palmarejo gold and silver mine in Chihuahua, Northern Mexico, which encompasses approximately 67,296 net acres. In northwestern Nevada, the Rochester silver and gold mine covers about 43,441 net acres. The Kensington gold mine, situated north of Juneau, Alaska, spans 3,972 net acres. Additionally, the Wharf gold mine occupies roughly 3,243 net acres in the northern Black Hills of western South Dakota, and the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead mine in northern British Columbia, Canada, extends over 97,298 net acres. Beyond these fully-owned sites, Coeur Mining also holds interests in the Crown and Sterling projects located in southern Nevada, as well as the La Preciosa project in Mexico. The concentrates produced from its operations are then marketed and sold to various third-party customers and smelters through established off-take agreements. Historically, the company was known as Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation before rebranding to Coeur Mining, Inc. in May 2013. Established in 1928, its corporate headquarters are located in Chicago, Illinois.

Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call conveyed a broadly positive picture driven by record revenue, EBITDA and free cash flow, a strengthened balance sheet with >$1.1B cash and >$2B liquidity, meaningful contributions from newly acquired Canadian assets, strong operational milestones (e.g., Rochester crushing record) and active capital returns. Offsetting items are operational ramp timing issues at New Afton and Rainy River, temporary lower grades at several mines, noncash acquisition accounting impacts that inflate near-term reported costs and EBITDA, and some cost inflation and incremental capital needs. Management presented clear remediation plans and timing for ramp-ups and expects many headwinds to abate in the third and fourth quarters, supporting a constructive outlook.View all IT:1CDE earnings summaries1CDE Stock 12 Month Forecast
