Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Sustained Revenue And Profit ScalingConsistent multi-year revenue and net income expansion indicates durable demand across retail, MSME and corporate segments. Margin expansion to ~21% suggests improved pricing, mix and operating leverage, supporting repeatable earnings power over medium term.
Larger, Better-capitalized Balance SheetMaterial asset and equity growth strengthens the bank's lending capacity and shock absorption. Higher equity provides room for credit growth and regulatory buffers, enabling strategic expansion into retail/MSME segments without immediate capital shortfalls.
Improved Return On EquityROE near 19–20% through 2025 signals better capital efficiency and effective deployment of funds. Sustained ROE at these levels implies management is extracting higher returns from core lending operations and controls costs, aiding long-term shareholder value creation.
Bears Say
Highly Volatile Cash FlowsLarge swings in operating and free cash flow increase execution and refinancing risk, complicating capital allocation decisions like dividends or loan growth. Volatility undermines confidence in earnings convertibility to cash and raises sensitivity to credit-cycle shocks.
Sharp Rise In Debt Most Recent YearA marked increase in borrowings raises leverage and interest-service obligations, reducing financial flexibility. If sustained, higher debt can constrain margin management, elevate funding costs, and limit headroom for provisioning or opportunistic lending during stress.
Gross Margin Erosion / Mix PressureDeclining gross margin signals possible adverse mix shifts or pricing pressure in lending/investment yields. If structural, this compresses long-term margin sustainability and forces reliance on volume growth or cost cuts to preserve net income levels.
