Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Revenue GrowthFY2026 revenue rose about 95% year over year while EBIT and net margins remained solid. Continued expansion would improve operating scale and market reach, although sustaining this trajectory will depend on production execution and demand across iron ore and steel markets.
Profitability RecoveryThe company has recovered from its FY2023 loss-making period to report strong profits through FY2026. Healthy EBIT and net margins provide internal funding capacity and demonstrate that the operating platform can generate attractive returns when commodity conditions are supportive.
Integrated OperationsMining, processing, downstream metal production and supporting logistics give Lloyds Metals greater control over its supply chain than a single-stage producer. This integration can improve raw-material availability, capture more value and support resilience across changing industry conditions.
Bears Say
Sharp Leverage IncreaseThe sharp increase in debt materially reduces financial flexibility and raises repayment and refinancing exposure. If steel demand, iron ore prices or operating performance weaken, higher fixed obligations could pressure profitability, investment capacity and shareholder returns.
Negative Free Cash FlowPersistent negative free cash flow indicates that capital spending or working-capital needs are absorbing operating profits. Combined with higher leverage, this increases reliance on external funding and makes successful completion and monetization of the investment cycle important.
Commodity CyclicalityThe shift from a loss in FY2023 to strong FY2026 profits shows significant earnings sensitivity to commodity prices and operating conditions. Recent gross-margin compression also suggests cost pressure or normalization risk, limiting confidence that current profitability is fully sustainable.
