Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Revenue RecoveryA sharp 2025 revenue rebound indicates renewed client activity across capital-markets services. If sustained, stronger deal flow and transaction volumes can improve operating leverage and support growth over the coming months.
Profitability ReboundThe return to profitable operations and high margins shows that the platform can generate attractive earnings when market activity improves. This provides a stronger base for reinvestment and resilience than the prior loss-making period.
Improved ReturnsPositive returns on equity combined with relatively stable equity suggests improved use of the capital base following the earnings recovery. This can support business continuity and client capacity, provided profitability does not reverse.
Bears Say
Elevated LeverageA debt-heavy balance sheet leaves the company more exposed to earnings weakness, funding costs and capital-markets volatility. For a financial-services firm, sustained leverage can constrain flexibility if revenues or asset values deteriorate.
Weak Cash ConversionNegative operating and free cash flow means recent accounting profits were not fully converted into cash. Persistent working-capital or timing swings could limit reinvestment capacity and increase reliance on external funding.
Earnings VolatilityThe pronounced earnings cycle demonstrates sensitivity to capital-markets conditions and reduces confidence in the durability of current profits. Volatility can complicate planning, weaken cash generation and amplify balance-sheet risk.
