Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Sustained Revenue GrowthMHP has demonstrated strong multi-year top-line expansion, with Q1 growth supported by European operations and UVESA consolidation. Continued volume and geographic growth can strengthen scale and broaden the earnings base over the next several quarters.
Geographic And Segment DiversificationEuropean operations and Agriculture are offsetting weaker poultry performance, reducing dependence on one market and product cycle. This diversification can make group earnings more resilient when export prices, production costs or regional demand weaken.
Integrated Agribusiness ModelControl across the poultry value chain allows MHP to capture margins at multiple stages, manage feed and production inputs, and develop higher-value processed products. This integration can support supply resilience and differentiation beyond commodity poultry sales.
Bears Say
Profitability CompressionRevenue growth has not translated consistently into earnings, with sharp TTM profit compression and lower Q1 EBITDA. Continued margin volatility limits visibility, weakens returns on capital and could constrain investment capacity if conditions persist.
Elevated LeverageA debt-heavy capital structure leaves MHP exposed to cyclical earnings weakness and refinancing demands. Leverage near the 3.0x covenant threshold also reduces strategic flexibility, particularly while the company pursues further acquisitions.
Weak Cash GenerationMostly negative free cash flow indicates that recent operations have not fully funded capital needs. Modest debt coverage reduces capacity to deleverage, self-finance expansion or absorb prolonged cost inflation without relying on external funding.

Company Description
MHP SE Sponsored GDR RegS
MHP SE, alongside its various subsidiaries, operates as a significant producer and distributor of food and poultry products, serving markets both within Ukraine and globally. The company organizes its extensive operations into four distinct divisions: Poultry & Related Operations, Grain Growing Operations, Meat-Processing & Other Agricultural Operations, and European Operating. Within the Poultry & Related Operations segment, MHP SE is responsible for manufacturing and supplying fresh and frozen chicken, various vegetable oils—including sunflower and soybean—and animal feed. A wide array of these products, under brand names such as Nasha Riaba, Apetytna, Baschinsky, Vinnytski Kurchata, Kurator, Sultanah, Assilah, Al-Hassanat, Home Style Chicken, Ukrainian Chicken, and Chef's Secrets, are specifically targeted for export. Its Grain Growing Operations division focuses on cultivating crops, which are then used both for its own fodder production and for sale to external clients. The Meat-Processing & Other Agricultural Operations segment encompasses the creation and distribution of sausages, processed and ready-to-eat meats, convenience foods, as well as goods derived from cattle and dairy farming. These items are marketed under labels including Bashchinsky, Lehko!, Qualiko, Skott Smeat, and Sytni. Meanwhile, the European Operating segment handles the manufacturing and commercialization of chicken meat and processed poultry products, distributed under the PP and Poli brands. Beyond these core activities, MHP SE is also actively involved in hatching eggs. Additionally, it cultivates a range of crops—including corn, sunflower, soybean seeds, rapeseed, and wheat—for supply to third-party purchasers. Established in 1998, MHP SE maintains its corporate headquarters in Kyiv, Ukraine.

MHPC Earnings Call
Q1 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Neutral
The call presents a mixed picture: strong top-line growth (revenue +31% YoY) and tangible progress on European expansion and agricultural performance are counterbalanced by a notable decline in adjusted EBITDA (~29%), an attributable net loss from FX effects, weakened poultry profitability due to lower export prices and higher energy-driven production costs, and weaker operating cash flow. Management highlights diversification benefits (UVESA consolidation, agriculture strength, vegetable oil recovery) and outlines further M&A (Nitsiakos) and a conservative full-year EBITDA target (USD 520–550M), but acknowledges material near-term headwinds and seasonality risk in poultry.View all GB:MHPC earnings summariesTechnical Analysis
