Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Integrated Agribusiness Model
MHP's vertically integrated model captures value across feed, farming, processing and distribution rather than relying on one production stage. This diversification can support supply coordination, product mix flexibility and more resilient earnings across changing poultry and food-market conditions.
European Segment Expansion
Rapid European growth, supported by UVESA consolidation, higher processed-meat volumes and improving integration, broadens MHP's geographic and product exposure. The segment's EBITDA expansion provides a meaningful counterweight to weaker Ukrainian poultry profitability and strengthens the group's long-term earnings base.
Expanded Vegetable Oil Capacity
The new extraction line increases processing capacity and oil yield, allowing MHP to capture more value from its agricultural output. Near-full utilization and higher sunflower oil volumes provide a durable growth platform that diversifies revenue beyond poultry and supports segment profitability.
Bears Say
Sharp Profitability Deterioration
Profit growth is lagging revenue materially, indicating that pricing, costs and foreign-exchange effects are absorbing much of the company's expansion. Persistently lower margins and a net loss would reduce reinvestment capacity and make earnings more volatile if operating pressures continue.
Weak Cash Conversion
Lower operating cash flow alongside substantial working-capital investment weakens the conversion of reported business activity into usable liquidity. This can constrain funding for maintenance and growth projects, increase dependence on financing, and amplify balance-sheet pressure during a weaker poultry cycle.
Refinancing And Debt Maturity Pressure
Upcoming repayments and sizeable short-term borrowings create a continuing financing requirement even after the 2026 notes refinancing. If profitability and cash generation remain weak, debt service and refinancing could limit strategic flexibility and divert funds from operating investment.

Company Description
MHP SE GDR RegS
MHP SE, alongside its various subsidiaries, operates as a significant producer and distributor of food and poultry products, serving markets both within Ukraine and globally. The company organizes its extensive operations into four distinct divisions: Poultry & Related Operations, Grain Growing Operations, Meat-Processing & Other Agricultural Operations, and European Operating. Within the Poultry & Related Operations segment, MHP SE is responsible for manufacturing and supplying fresh and frozen chicken, various vegetable oils—including sunflower and soybean—and animal feed. A wide array of these products, under brand names such as Nasha Riaba, Apetytna, Baschinsky, Vinnytski Kurchata, Kurator, Sultanah, Assilah, Al-Hassanat, Home Style Chicken, Ukrainian Chicken, and Chef's Secrets, are specifically targeted for export. Its Grain Growing Operations division focuses on cultivating crops, which are then used both for its own fodder production and for sale to external clients. The Meat-Processing & Other Agricultural Operations segment encompasses the creation and distribution of sausages, processed and ready-to-eat meats, convenience foods, as well as goods derived from cattle and dairy farming. These items are marketed under labels including Bashchinsky, Lehko!, Qualiko, Skott Smeat, and Sytni. Meanwhile, the European Operating segment handles the manufacturing and commercialization of chicken meat and processed poultry products, distributed under the PP and Poli brands. Beyond these core activities, MHP SE is also actively involved in hatching eggs. Additionally, it cultivates a range of crops—including corn, sunflower, soybean seeds, rapeseed, and wheat—for supply to third-party purchasers. Established in 1998, MHP SE maintains its corporate headquarters in Kyiv, Ukraine.

MHP SE GDR RegS (MPQ) Earnings & Revenues
MPQ Company Deck
MPQ Earnings Call
Earnings Call SentimentNeutral
The call presented a resilient and diversified business with strong revenue growth, stable first-half adjusted EBITDA, expanding European operations, improved vegetable oil performance and adaptive export routes. However, these positives were offset by a $57 million net loss, lower operating profit and margins, sharply weaker poultry profitability, Ukrainian logistics and infrastructure disruptions, higher logistics costs, lower agricultural prices, a reduced full-year EBITDA outlook of approximately $420 million to $450 million, and refinancing requirements. The positive operational developments and resilience were substantial, but the financial and operating challenges were also significant and broadly balanced the highlights.
