Integrated Upstream-to-refining ModelOwning plantations, mills and refining gives First Resources structural advantages: margin capture along the value chain, operational flexibility to shift sales between raw CPO and higher-value refined products, and reduced reliance on third-party processors. This integration supports steadier long-term margins and resilience across the commodity cycle.
Strong Reported MarginsSustained high gross and operating margins indicate efficient plantation and mill operations and pricing power in refined products. Elevated margins provide a buffer versus weaker revenue periods, support internal reinvestment and dividends, and underpin durable profitability over the next several quarters.
Demonstrated Revenue ReboundThe sharp 2025 revenue recovery shows the company's ability to scale production and monetize demand when conditions improve. This demonstrates operational scalability and execution capacity across harvesting, milling and sales channels, suggesting revenue growth can re-accelerate as market fundamentals permit.
Bears Say
Rising Leverage In 2025Debt rising materially from a conservative position increases financial risk and constrains flexibility. Higher leverage raises interest and refinancing exposure, limits ability to pursue opportunistic investments or buybacks, and reduces headroom to absorb a commodity downturn over the medium term.
Inconsistent Free Cash FlowVolatile and sometimes negative free cash flow limits the company's ability to sustainably fund dividends, repay debt or invest without additional borrowing. Swinging FCF signals working-capital and reinvestment volatility, weakening the durability of reported earnings into long-term shareholder returns.
Commodity-driven Earnings VolatilityExposure to palm oil price cycles produces meaningful year-to-year swings in revenue and margins. This cyclicality impairs predictability of cash flows and returns, complicates capital allocation and increases the risk that a downcycle could pressure margins, leverage and shareholder distributions over several quarters.

Company Description
First Resources (Singapore)
First Resources Limited, founded in Singapore in 1992, operates as an investment holding company primarily focused on palm oil production. Its extensive operations span Singapore, Indonesia, Europe, China, and other international regions. The company's business is organized into two main divisions: Plantations and Palm Oil Mills, and Refinery and Processing. In its Plantations and Palm Oil Mills segment, First Resources is responsible for cultivating and maintaining oil palms, as well as harvesting and milling fresh fruit bunches to produce crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernels (PK). The Refinery and Processing division subsequently transforms these CPO and PK products into a variety of value-added derivatives, such as biodiesel, palm kernel oil, palm kernel expeller, and refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) olein and stearin. Beyond its core palm oil activities, the company also engages in rubber cultivation. First Resources oversees a substantial agricultural portfolio, managing 212,208 hectares of oil palm plantations and an additional 6,321 hectares dedicated to rubber. The company is a subsidiary of Eight Capital Inc.
