Chewy's Strategic Acquisition and Financial Strength Bolster Buy RatingWe also believe the deal highlights the large and growing cash position of the business, which in our model starts to approach $1 billion by year-end (gross of this transaction). While we support smaller, tuck-in acquisitions, particularly over buying out BC Partners, we believe the platform has enough organic growth to not have to overly rely on M&A activity. With the release, Chewy also reiterated full-year guidance. We have adjusted our model to account for larger gross margin headwinds in the third quarterversus fourth quarter to account for the launch of Chewy+ (where incentives to sign up are gross margin dilutive), and less SG&A leverage than in the fourth quarter. We have taken up our marketing spend in the fourth quarter to account for support of active customer growth and new private-label product.
