Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Advertising & Live EventsFOX's leadership in live sports and political advertising creates durable, high-value inventory that advertisers pay premiums for. The World Cup-driven surge demonstrates recurring structural demand for live events, supporting pricing power, affiliate leverage and resilient ad margins through cycles.
Tubi & Streaming ScaleTubi's sizable MAU base and sustained EBITDA positivity indicate improving unit economics in ad-supported streaming. Scale plus disciplined digital investment creates a durable revenue diversification path, strengthening FOX's position in CTV/AVOD and reducing reliance on linear advertising over the medium term.
Balance Sheet & Capital ReturnsSolid liquidity, manageable leverage and consistent buybacks/dividend signal disciplined capital allocation and financial flexibility. This balance-sheet strength supports strategic M&A like Roku, funds shareholder returns, and provides a buffer against cyclical ad downturns, enhancing long-term resilience.
Bears Say
Weaker Cash ConversionA sharp FCF decline and thinner operating cash coverage reduce margin for error on timing-sensitive items like rights payments and receivable collections. Lower cash conversion weakens the company's buffer for acquisitions, rights financing and buybacks, increasing medium-term liquidity and execution risk.
Margin Pressure From Rights CostsA multi-point decline in operating margin reflects rising content and event-related costs that can persist. If major sports rights and production expenses remain elevated, sustaining prior margins will require persistent pricing power, improved content monetization, or further cost cuts—each bearing execution risk.
Roku Acquisition UncertaintyWhile strategically accretive if completed, the Roku deal faces regulatory scrutiny and integration complexity. Delays, conditions or failed approvals would materially alter expected distribution and ad-tech synergies, exposing FOX to transaction costs and a potential gap between investor expectations and realized benefits.

FO5B Earnings Call
Q4 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call emphasized multiple material wins: record annual revenue and EBITDA, very strong Q4 growth, exceptional advertising performance (driven by the FIFA World Cup), and robust momentum at Tubi and FOX One. Management highlighted disciplined digital investment, strong free cash flow, significant shareholder returns, and a strategically accretive pending Roku deal. Challenges were acknowledged — notably higher costs tied to the World Cup, some segment-level profit pressure (cable EBITDA down), timing impacts on cash flow, a decline in reported GAAP net income, and a competitive CTV market — but these were largely framed as manageable or transitional. Overall, the positive operating and financial momentum and strategic progress materially outweigh the disclosed challenges.View all CH:FO5B earnings summariesFO5B Revenue Breakdown
