10.7M video game from AAA game publishers were bought throughout Europe in August, marking a nearly 29% increase from August of last year, Gamesindustry.biz’s Christopher Dring reports, citing GSD data. Electronic Arts’ (EA) “FIFA 23” was the top-seller, as the soccer sim saw a notable sales spike on Nintendo Switch (NTDOY), where the game was on sale via the Nintendo eShop, Dring says. Take-Two’s (TTWO) “Grand Theft Auto V” was in second place, followed by Warner Bros. Discovery’s (WBD) “Hogwarts Legacy,” Bandai Namco’s (NCBDY) “Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon,” Take-Two’s “Red Dead Redemption 2,” EA’s “F1 23,” Activision Blizzard’s (ATVI) “Diablo 4,” and Nintendo’s “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.”
