Microsoft’s (MSFT) latest video game “Starfield” ended “comfortably” in the top spot in terms of sales across Europe during its debut week, Gamesindustry.biz’s Christopher Dring reports, citing GSD data. The game, which launched for Xbox Series X/S and PC earlier this month, became the fastest-selling new game property of the year, and the fifth fastest-selling title of 2023 overall, with launch sales ahead of Square Enix’s (SQNXF) “Final Fantasy 16” and Capcom’s (CCOEY) “Resident Evil 4” but behind Warner Bros. Discovery’s (WBD) “Hogwarts Legacy,” Activision Blizzard’s (ATVI) “Diablo IV,” Nintendo’s (NTDOY) “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” and EA‘s (EA) “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” the author notes.
