The U.K. tax authorities have stopped collecting tens of millions of pounds in disputed VAT payments from Uber (UBER) following a setback in a legal battle with European rival Bolt, Stephen Foley, Rafe Uddin, and Emma Agyemang of The Financial Times reports. His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs dropped its demands that Uber continue paying VAT on the full cost rides, instead of just on the company’s cut of the fare, until the matter is resolved in court.
